The letter was referred to the <br />Chamber of Commerce. <br />Mayor Weymouth requested, through the City Attorney, that the Council decide whether or not <br />they wanted to appoint a new Sidewalk Committee. The Clerk was asked to place this <br />matter on the agenda for next week. <br />The City Attorney reported on his memo that he sent out to the Council on material in <br />connection with the proposed Association of Bay Area Governments. <br />Councilman Herkner moved adoption of RESOLUTION NO. 3144 APPOINTING MAYOR RAY WEYMOUTH <br />CITY MANAGER PRO TEMPORE, seconded by Councilman Stehle and carried unanimously on <br />6W <br />roll call, Councilman Fields and Mayor Weymouth being noted absent. <br />Councilman Rosselli recommended that the vacations be rotated so that the assistant <br />to the City Manager and the assistants to the Department Heads cannot be absent at the <br />same time as the Department Head in the future. <br />Claims 33167 through 33397, totaling $183,485.53. The City Attorney asked that the Council <br />go on to something else while he checked the Charter since the City Manager had not <br />signed final approval of the claims. <br />Don Frolich asked about the City Manager's report on the options in Kensington Square on <br />Jefferson Avenue between Alameda de las Pulgas and Upton Street. Councilman Rosselli <br />moved that the report of the City Manager be placed on the agenda for next week, <br />July 18th, seconded by Councilman Stehle and carried. <br />The City Attorney stated that the Council could approve the claims upon assurance of the <br />City Auditor that he had checked the claims and subject to written approval of the <br />City Manager. Councilman Royer moved approval of claims 33167 through 33397, totaling <br />$183,485.53, based on the approval of the Auditor and subject to written approval of <br />the City Manager, seconded by Councilman Rosselli and carried. <br />Bay Area Government proposal. Councilman Royer moved to place this matter on the agenda <br />for next week, seconded by Councilman Herkner and carried. <br />Councilman Herkner moved that the Council meeting be adjourned to 8:30 p.m. on July 13th <br />at the Veterans Memorial Building for a joint meeting with the Planning Commission, <br />seconded by Councilman Royer and carried.
