The Mayor ann.eimced that a request had been made to con- <br />tinue this public hearing to August 8th. There being no objections, Councilman R osselli moved that the public <br />hearing be continued to August 8th, seconded by Councilman Fields and carried. <br />Adopt an ordinance of the City of Redwood C ity,(hlifornia, regulating the installation, erection, moving, altering, <br />replacing, improving, suspension, and/or maintenance of all signs and advertising structures; providing for <br />issuance of permits and the fixing of fees therefor; providing a penalty for the violation thereof, and re- <br />pealing all ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict with this ordinance. Councilman Herkner moved to <br />continue the matter for two weeks, August 1st, seconded by Councilman Stehle and carried. <br />Continuation of BANS S. MICHALSKI'S REQUEST FOR Pi+RMISSION TO MOVE A FRAME HOUSE, 181 x 46+ now located at Lot 6, ..rel <br />Stein Park (15 17 Union Avenue) to Lot 17, Block 1, Stambaugh Street Addition, next to 633 Buckeye Street. <br />Investigation indicates that there will be a driveway and carport on the side Where an easement night eventually <br />be requested. Under these circumstances, it is recommended that the permit be granted. Councilman Royer moved <br />to uphold the Planning Commission's recommendation and grant the permit subject to building being brought to <br />Building, Electrical and Plumbing Code standards and for use as single family residence only. Councilman <br />Granger said he would second the motion if they could make sure that no building Would be constructed on the <br />easement. This was followed by discussion in which the Clerk Was asked to report to the Building Department <br />that the house should be built high enough so as not to create a drainage problem. The motion carried unani- <br />mously. (MINUTE ORDER #60-169) <br />Councilman Granger moved to refer the matter of cleaning up lots after buildings are removed and amending the <br />present house moving ordinance to the Attorney (MINUTE ORDER #60-170)3, seconded by Councilman Fields and car- <br />ried. <br />Councilman Granger moved that a letter be written to the present property owners of the property from which <br />the Treacty house was moved, asking them to clean up the premises (MINUTE ORDER #60-171)9 seconded by Council- <br />man Royer and carried. <br />REPORT ON BID OPENING, POLICE CAR. Only one bid was received.: Davies Auto Company, 1960 Chevrolet 4 door sedan, <br />$2047.89 less trade-in of $900, net cost to City $1,447.89. It was recommended that the bid be awarded to <br />Davies Auto Company. Councilman Royer moved adoption of RESOLUTION NO., 3145 AWARDING CONTRACT FOR FURNISHING <br />OF NEVA POLICE CAR; AND, REJECTING ALL OTHER BIDS RECEIVED, seconded by Councilman Fields and, carried unani- <br />mously on roll call. <br />AGREEMENT BETWEEN PACIFIC GAS AND ELECTRIC COMPANY AND CITY GRANTING PERMISSION TO DUMP SPOILS FROM DREDGING ON <br />UTILITY EASEMENTS., Councilman Rosselli moved adoption of RESOLUTION NO. 3146 AUTHORIZING AGREEMENT FCR AC - <br />QUISITION OF PERMIT FROM PACIFIC GAS AND ELECTRIC COMPANY FOR SPOIIS DISPOSAL AREA, seconded by Councilman <br />Stehle and carried unanimously on roll call. 311 <br />Sequoia Yacht Club requested that the City furnish City -owned crane and operators to load and unload boats at <br />the Yacht Harbor on Sunday, August 7th, for their annual Regatta. Wes Arnold, representing Sequoia Yacht <br />Club, stated that their Club would carry all the necessary insurance holding the City harmless and would pay <br />for the use of City equipment and operators. Councilman Rosselli moved to grant the request subject to the <br />• i <br />City being held harmless and free and clear of liability (MINUTE ORDER #60-172), seconded by Councilman <br />Herkner and carried. <br />Street resurfacing, Broadway from Second Avenue toC harter Street. Councilman Herkner moved adoption of RESOLU <br />TION NO. 3147 APPROVING PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS FOR BROADWAY IMPROVEMENTS AND AUTHORIZING THE CALLING OF <br />BIDS, seconded by Counci4mian F ields and carried unanimously on roll call. <br />
