SLmon Peters, 46U Avenue del Ora, stated that he was the owner of Lot <br />10 in the area of this annexation and he wanted to know if he and his neighbors could be included in this <br />Annexation. Councilman Rosselli objected to the annexation on the grounds that they only wanted to pat in <br />half a street* Mr. Preston, representing Mrs. Rosenblatt, addressed the Council. After considerable dis- <br />cussion on the problem of the half street vs. a full street and bulkhead vs* curbs and gutter, Councilman <br />Herkner moved that the public hearing be closed, seconded by Councilman Granger and carried. <br />Councilman Herkner moved adoption of RESOLUTION NO. 3153 BEING A RESCLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RED- <br />WOOD CITY FINDING AND DETERMINING THAT PROTEST TO THE PROPOSED ANNEXATION TO THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY OF CER- <br />TAIN UNINHABITED TERRITORY DESIGNATED AS PEDGECLIFF ANNEXATION" HAS NOT BEEN MADE BY OWNERS OF ONE-HALF OF THE <br />VALUE OF PRIVATE PROPERTY WITHIN SUCH TERRITORY AS SHOWN BY THE LAST EQUALIZED ASSESSMENT ROLL, NOR BY THE <br />OWNERS OF ONE-HALF OF THE VALUE OF PUBLICLY OWNED PROPERTY WITHIN SAID TERRITORY AS DETERMINED BY SAID COUNCIL, <br />seconded by Councilman Granger and carried on roll call with Councilmen Granger, Herkner, Stehle and Mayor <br />Weymouth voting yes, Councilmen Fields and Rosselli voting no and Councilman Rayer being noted absent. <br />Councilman Granger moved introduction cf an ordinance of the City of Redwood City approving the annexation <br />to the City of Redwood City of certain uninhabited territory designated "EdgecliffAnnexation", and herein <br />described, and herein annexing said territory to said City of Redwood City, seconded by Councilman Herkner and <br />carried on roll call with Councilmen Granger, Herkner, Stehle and Mayor Weymouth voting yes, Councilmen Fields <br />and Rosselli voting no and Councilman Royer being noted absent. <br />Councilman Herkner moved that the future development of this property be subject to full width street and a <br />bulkhead, seconded by Councilman Stehle. After discussion, Councilman Herkner amended his motion to tie in <br />with the Annexation Committee report with the exception that 34 feet of paving be required instead of 17 feet, <br />seconded by Councilman Stehle. This was followed by discussion after which the motion was changed to 28 feet <br />of paving to be required instead of 34 feet. Councilman Stehle withdrew his second. Councilman Granger then <br />seconded motion. The motion lost because of a tie vote with Councilmen Granger, Herkner and Mayor Weymouth <br />voting yes, Councilmen Fields, Rosselli and Stehle voting no and Councilman Royer being noted absent. <br />PUBLIC HEARING ON MARSH ROAD AN NEXATION. The public hearing was declared open and the affidavits of publication <br />and the affidavit of Clerk that owners of neither one-half of the value of the provately owned territory, nor <br />owners of one-half of publicly owned territory have protested annexation, were ordered filed. There being <br />no protests, written or oral, Councilman Herkner moved that the public hearing be closed, seconded by Council- <br />man Rosselli and carried. <br />Councilman Herkner moved adoption of RESOLUTION N0. 3154 BEING A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RED- <br />WOOD CITY FINDING AND DETERMINING THAT PROTEST TO THE PROPOSED ANNEXATION TO THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY OF <br />CERTAIN UNINHABITED TERRITORY DESIGNATED AS "MARSH ROAD ANNEXATION", HAS NOT BEEN MADE BY CANNERS OF ONE-HALF <br />OF THE VALUE OF PRIVATE PROPERTY WITHIN SUCH TERRITORY AS SHOWN BY THE LAST EQUALIZED ASSESSMENT ROLL, NOR <br />BY THE MMS OF ONE-HALF OF THE VALUE CF PUBLICLY Off= PROPERTY WITHIN SAID TERRITORY AS DETERMINED BY <br />SAID COUNCIL, seconded by Councilman Stehle and carried unanimously on roll call, Councilman Royer being <br />noted absent. <br />Councilman Granger moved introduction of an ordinance of the City of Redwood City approving the annexation <br />to the City of Redwood City of certain uninhabited territory designated "Marsh Road Annexation.9" and herein <br />described, and herein annexing said territory to said City of Redwood City, seconded by Councilman Rosselli <br />and carried. <br />(Continued in Minutes - Book 28) <br />
