The majority of the lots in this area have 501 r/w for streets which creates the problem because of the slope of the street where it meets the driveways. Mr. Wilkinson recommended that the City start with the 341 street and work from the outside in to fit the areas and problems involved. Councilman Royer was of the opinion that the Council stick to the standards set in the Glenwood Areas 341 street and no sidewalk. This was followed by discussion on the economical feasibility of a 341 street. A 201 street minimum would not allow parking on one side of the street. Councilman Roger asked Dick Wilkinson to see if the Planning Commission would go for the establishing of a policy of 341 street# eliminating sidewalks and electroUers if the people did not want them. If they won't go for a 341 street would they go for a 30' street* Councilman Fields was of the opinion that asp► future annexation which is contigious to a standard Redwood City stteet, and if it is feasible., that the territory to be annexed be required to put in the same type of width street. Councilman Rorer moved that this matter be referred to the Planning Commission for their study and recommendation, seconded by Councilman Rosselli and carried. G. A. Ballous 462 Upland Road, stated that his area was interested in annexing to the City but all they wanted was sewers. They have submitted their petition for annexation. This was followed by discussion. Councilman Fields moved that the meeting be adjourned to September 12th# seconded by Councilman Herkner and carried. Granger and William H. Royer were noted absent. Also noted present were City Manager J. E. Neals City Attorney Robert J. Costello, City Engineer Glenn M. Jain, Assistant Planning Director Leonard Knittels Assistant Building Inspector Be C. Gyselbrecht., Police Chief William Faulstich., Fire Chief J. L. Lodi# Water Superintendent H. L. Minter and Deputy City Clerk Vivian Rifbjerg. Counr human Rosselli moved approval of the minutes of August 29th as mailed# seconded by Councilmen Fields and carried. Mayor Weymouth presented the "Certificate of Appointment" to Harold Hjertberg# New Planning Commissioner.
