40 <br />westerly turn, be straightened out in order to avoid the bisecting of their property into irregular parcels. <br />The following people stated their objections; Mrs. B oicelli; Mrs. McAdoo, .366 East Oakwood Blvd.; J. E. <br />Jones, 3d9 Northumberland Avenue; David Everett, 262 East Oakwood Blvd.; Mr. Harowitz, 468 Northumberland; <br />and the property owner of Continental Motel. After a very lengthy discussion, Councilman Royer moved that <br />the public hearing be closed, seconded by Councilman Fieldsp and carried. <br />Councilman Royer moved to accept the Planning Commission's recommendation and requested that the map be <br />amended to adjust the line to straighten out Northumberland leaving enough depth to each of the properties � <br />in back of Mels' Bowl, and continuation - of the matter to November 21, 1960. There was no second to this <br />motion. Councilman Royer moved adoption of resolution with the understanding that there would be an amend- <br />ment to the map as discussed, seconded by Councilman Herkner. After discussion, Councilman Royer withdrew <br />his motion and Councilman Herkner withdrew his second. <br />Councilman Rosselli moved to reopen the public hearing, seconded by Councilman Stehle and carried. After <br />discussion on alternate plans studied by the Planning Commission and their reasons for their final recom- <br />mendation, Councilman Granger moved that the public hearing be closed, seconded by Councilman. Fields and <br />carried. <br />Councilman Granger moved adoption of RESOLUTION NO. 3243 ESTABLISHING OFFICIAL FLAN LINES FOR THE EXTENSION <br />OF CYPRESS STREET, NORTHUMBERLAND AVENUE AND STREETS C ONNECTING THEREWITH, seconded by Councilman Fields <br />(plan lines as submitted by the Planning Commission, Alternate A). Councilman Herkner moved to amend the <br />motion to amend and change the plan lines showing the green line. The City Attorney ruled that this part- <br />icular amendment was out of order and could not be considered a proper amendment to the motion. The Resolu- <br />tion carried on roll call with Councilmen Fields, Granger, Rosselli and Mayor Weymouth voting yes, Council- <br />men Herkner, Royer and Stehle voting no. <br />Councilman Herkner moved adoption of ORDINANCE NO. 983 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY APPROVING THE <br />ANNEXATION TO THE CITY OF RE HOOD CITY OF CERTAIN UNINHABITED TERRITOiLY DESIGNATED "WICKET ANMXATION" AND <br />HEREIN DESCRIBED, AND HEREIN ANNEXING SAID TERRITORY TO SAID CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, seconded by Councilman <br />Fields and carried unanimously on roll call. The affidavit of publication was ordered filed. <br />Councilman Royer moved adoption of ORDINANCE NO. 984 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY CF REDWOOD CITY APPROVING THE <br />ANNEXATION TO THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY OF CERTAIN UNINHABITED TERRITORY DESIGNATED "ODDSTAD ANNEXATION NO. <br />1" AND HEREIN DESCRIBED, AND HEREIN ANNEXING SAID TERRITORY TO SAID CITY OF REDWOOD CITY (part of Stulsaft <br />Park), seconded by Councilman Granger and carried unanimously on roll call. The affidavit of publication <br />was ordered filed. <br />RESOLUTION OF INTENTION TO ANNEX "CANCILLA ANNEXATION" - It lots on Woodside Road comprising 0.231 acres at the <br />corner of Beresford Avenue opposite Massachusetts Avenue. Two commercial buildings are on the property and <br />tha Planning Commission has set the number of building sites at two. The Clerk authorized to receive and <br />file affidavit of Engineer verifying contiguity; approval of San Mateo County Boundary Commission; and af- <br />fidavit of clerk of less than 12 registered voters in territory. Councilman Royer moved adoption of RESOLU- <br />TION NO. 3244 BEING A RESOLUTION CF THE COUNCIL CF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY GIVING NOTICE OF, AND DECLARING <br />ITS INTENTION TO, INITIATE ON ITS ONN MOTION PROCEEDINGS TO ANNEX TO SAID CITY CERTAIN UNINHABITED TERRITORY; <br />DESCRIBING SAID TERRITORY AND DESIGNATING IT BY THE NAME "CANCILLA ANNEXATION"; GIVING ITS REASONS FOR DE- <br />SIRING SAID ANNEXATION;; MAKING CERTAIN FINDINGS RESPECTTNG SAID PROCEEDINGS; AND, GIVING NOTICE CF THE TAME <br />AND PLACE SAID COUNCIL WILL HEAR PROTESTS TO SAID ANNEXATION, seconded by Councilman Stehle and carried un- <br />animously on roll call. (public hearing set for January 2, 19b1) <br />DIVISION OF HIGHWAYS REQUESTS CANCELLATION OF TAXES as required under Section 4966 of the Revenue and Taxation <br />Code on two parcels acquired for Highway purposes. Parcel l: Clara E. Davison, Lot lv, Block 30, Eastern <br />Addition (Spruce and Heller) - Parcel 2: Will Davis, NE1y 101 front and rear measurements of Lot 8, and the <br />SWly Wt., front and rear measurements of Lot 9, Block 27, Eastern Addition (Spruce and Hancock -streets). <br />
