Ll <br />I <br />LJ <br />fN <br />413 <br />Councilman Weymouth moved adoption of RESOLUTION NO. 2988 AND ORDER OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />REDWOOD CITY SUBMITTING TO THE ELECTORS OF SAID CITY AT THE GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION TO BE HELD APRIL <br />12s 1960, AN ADVISORY MEASURE CONCERNING IMPOSITION OF LOCAL CITY SALES AND USE TAR, seconded by Coun- <br />cilman Fields and carried unanimously on roll call. <br />Councilman Spillers moved adoption of RESOLUTION NO. 2989 OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY <br />PROPOSING CERTAIN AMENDMENTS TO THE CHARTER OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY AND ORDERING THE SUBMISSION <br />THEREOF TO THE ELECTORS AT THE GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION TO BE HELD IN THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY ON <br />APRIL 12s 1960s seconded by Councilman Granger and carried unanimously on roll call* <br />Councilman Weymouth moved adoption of resolution of the Council of the City of Redwood City proposing <br />certain amendments (Proposition No. 2) to the Charter of the City of Redwood City and ordering the <br />submission thereof to the electors at the General Municipal Election to be held in the City of Redwood <br />City on April 12, 1960s seconded by Councilman Rosselli. The motion lost on roll call with Councilmen <br />Fields, Granger, Herkner and Spillers voting no and Councilmen Rosselli, Weymouth and Mayor Royer voting <br />yes. <br />Recommendation of Planning Commission on Louis A. Behrens petition to rezone from R-4 District to C-1 Dist- <br />ricts Lots 8, 9s 10, 11, 12, 13s ltd, 1.5s 16, 17, 180 19, Block 2s "Map of Robinson Subdivision," <br />located at 1240 Jefferson Avenues between Adams Street and El Camino Real. Councilman Spillers moved to <br />set the matter for public hearing on March loth (MINUTE ORDER #60-51)s seconded by Councilman Weymouth <br />and carried. <br />Resolution of intention by the Planning Commission to rezone from "M" Industrial District to "I -P" Indust- <br />rial Park Districts all property located between the Old Bayshore Highway on the northwest, including <br />the Whipple Overpass to the Harbor Boulevard inteechange. All property north of Redwood Creek to be <br />IP -20 (Industrial Park with lots of 20,000 feet) and South of the creek to IP -40 (40,000 square feet <br />lots). Councilman Weymouth moved to set the matter for public hearing on March 14, 196u (MINUTE O?DER <br />#60-52)s seconded by Councilman Rosselli and carried. <br />Councilman Spillers moved adoption of RESOLUTION NO. 2890 APPROVING SPECIFICATIONS FOR A NEW TRUCK; AND <br />AUTHORIZING THE CITY CLERK TO CALL FOR BIDS THEREFOR, seconded by Councilman Granger and carried unani- <br />mously on roll call. <br />Discussion cf joint use of old gymnasium building (boys) at Sequoia High Schools The Mayor explained the <br />situation to the Council. Councilman Rosselli moved to authorize the City Manager to contact the <br />School Trustees and also refer the matter to the Park and Recreation Commission simultaneously (MINUTE <br />ORDER #60-53), seconded by Councilman Granger. Councilman Herkner asked that the Building Inspector <br />make a determination to find out whether the building is safe. The motion carried. <br />COMMUNICATIONS: <br />Claim for alleged <br />injury, Mrs. Teresa Bossa, <br />304 Arlington Road, as <br />a result of a <br />fall at the Veterans <br />Memorial Building. <br />Councilman Fields moved <br />that the claim be denied <br />and referred <br />the matter to the <br />insurance carrier (MLNUfE ORDER #60-54), seconded by Councilman Rosselli and carried. <br />Robert Von Hein, 2015 Redwood Avenue, expressed his thanks And appreciation for the work the City did <br />with regard to a creek problem which existed at the intersection of Redwood and Fairview Avenue. <br />Ronald Adams, 518 Iris Street, expressed his appreciation to the Police Department and Sgt. Cole f or <br />their help to his wife who was involved in an automobile accident on February 9th,, <br />Peninsula Covenant Church asked that a study be made by the Council which will include specific recom- <br />mendations and plans for the rebuilding of the cross on top of Redwood City's skyline and also the <br />possible acquisition of sufficient land adjacent to this site to provide for a city park. <br />Claims 31813 through 31985, totaling $161037.7L, were ordered paid on motion of Councilman Rosselli, see- <br />
