ORDER #60-55), seconded by Councilman Weymouth and carried. <br />Councilman Weymouth moved to adjourn the meeting to Thursdays February 25th at 4:30 po me in the Conference Rooms <br />second floor, City Hall, <br />to discuss the sales tax <br />ordinance and resolution of intention and to <br />also dis- <br />cuss the termination of <br />Edgewood 1-B Annexation, <br />seconded by Councilman Spillers and carried. <br />Executive <br />study session, February 25th at 4:00 p. m. Meeting adjourned, 10:03 p. m. <br />R. S. S. Dodge, City Clerk <br />Minutes of the Regular Adjourned Meeting <br />Redwood City Council <br />February 25, 1960s 4:00 P. M. <br />ON ROLL CALL the following were noted present: Councilmen Ron W. Fields, Floyd D. Granger, Sidney D. Herkner, <br />John Rosselli, Robert V. Spillers, Ray Weymouth, Mayor William H. Royer and City Clerk R. S. Dodge. Also <br />present were City Manager James E. Neal, City Attorney Robert J. Costello, Police Chief William Faulstich <br />and Assessor -Auditor John J. Brophy. <br />APPOINTMENT OF CITY CLERK to succeed Re S. Dodge, retired. After reading and considering several applications, <br />Councilman Herkner moved, seconded by Councilman Rosselli, that Helen Moore be appointed to the position <br />of City Clerk -Treasurer effective April 1, 1960. Roll call vote indicated unanimous approval (MINUTE <br />ORDER #60-56)t Starting salary will be determined after study. <br />Or. motion of Councilman Spillers, seconded by Councilman Weymouth and carried, City Manager was requested to <br />bring in information pertaining to City Clerk's salary during the past five years (MINUTE ORDER #60-57). <br />DISCUSSION REGARDING MUNICIPAL AUDITORIUM ON APRIL BALLOT. Six Year Committee does not endorse as a committee, <br />however, will not oppose as a group! P. C. A. members will actively work for the approval of the electorate, <br />and will attempt to raise funds toward the passage of the proposal. After discussion, Councilman Weymouth <br />mored to leave the item on the ballot, seconded by Councilman Spillers. It was understood that Sales Tax <br />monies will be pledged to retire bonds and pay interest charges. Motion carried. (MINUTE ORDER #60-58) <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2991 TERMINATING ANNEXATION PROCEEDINGS DESIGNATED "EDGEWOOD ANNEXATION N0. 1-B". Public hearing <br />will be held Monday, February 29s 1960. Section 35007 of Government Code of California authorizes termination <br />of proceedings at any time prior to date set for public hearing. Councilman Spillers offered RESOLUTION N0. <br />2991 and moved its adoption, seconded by Councilman Herkner and carried unanimously on roll call. <br />RESOLUTION N0. 2992 REQUESTING COUNTY CLERK OF THE COUNTY OF SAN MATEO TO RENDER SPECIFIED ELECTION SERVICES was <br />offered by Councilman Weymouth who moved adoption„ seconded by Councilman Fields and carried unanimously on <br />roll call* <br />RESOLUTION NO. 29932 RESOLUTION OF INTENTION CONCERNING IMPOSITION AND ALLOCATION OF PROPOSED LOCAL SALES AND <br />USE TAX REVENUES. After discussion concerning alternate one which included the adoption of a sales tax <br />ordinance prior to the election but effective only if and when approval of the sales tax was accomplishedg <br />alternate two, which was a resolution of intention only, was the choice of the majority of the Councilmen. <br />Accordingly, Councilman Granger offered RESOLUTION NO. 2993 BEING THE RESOLUTION OF INTENTION CONCERNING <br />IMPOSITION AND ALLOCATION OF PROPOSED LOCAL SALES AND USE TAX REVENUES and moved adoption, seconded by Cour <br />oilman Fields and carried unanimously on roll call. <br />Councilman Weymouth moved adjournments seconded by Councilman Rosselli and carried.
