0 <br />i� <br />0 <br />19 <br />0 <br />415 <br />Minutes of the Regular Meeting <br />Redwood City Council <br />February 29, 19602 8:00 P.M. <br />Invocation was led by Reverend John Williamson, North Fair Oaks Community Church. <br />ON ROLL CALL the following were noted present: Councilmen Ron W. Fields, Sidney D. Herkner, Ray Weymouth, <br />Mayor William H.Royer and City Clerk R. S. Dodge. City Attorney Robert J. Costello was also present. <br />Councilmen Granger, Rosselli and Spillers were noted absent. <br />EDGLWOOD ANNEXATION NO. 1-B. The public hearing was declgred open and the affidavits of mailing and public- <br />ation were ordered filed. Written protests of the following were read: Richard and Teresa Tum Sudan, <br />4141 Park Way; Mrs. V. James Taranik, 2450 Las Palomas Drive, La Habra, California. <br />Mr. tum Sudan addressed the Council and voiced his protests, and Mr. William A. Patrick, president of <br />the Emerald Lake Hills Association, also registered his protests. <br />Letter from City Clerk was read which indicated that total valuation of protestants property according <br />to the last equalized assessment roll of the County of San Mateo totaled $7,980, or 13.60% of the total <br />valuationof the entire territory. <br />Councilman Herkner moved that the hearing be closed., 'seconded by Councilman Weymouth and carried. <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2994 FINDING AND DETERMINING THAT PROTESTS TO THE PROPOSED ANNEXATION TO THE CITY OF <br />REDWOOD CITY CF CERTAIN UNINHABITED TERRITORY DESIGNATED AS "EDGENf00D ANNEXATION NO. 1-B" HAS NOT BEEN <br />MADE BY OWNERS OF ONE-HALF OF THE VALUE OF PRIVATE PROPERTY WITHIN SUCH TERRITORY AS SHOWN BY THE LAST <br />EQUALIZED ASSESSMENT ROLL, NOR BY THE OWNERS OF ONE-HALF OF THE VALUE OF PUBLICLY OWNED PROPERTY WITTHIN <br />SAID TERRITORY AS DETERMINED BY SAID COUNCIL was offered by Councilman Weymouth who moved it adoption, <br />seconded by Councilman Fields and carried on roll call, Councilmen Granger, Rosselli, and Spillers being <br />noted absent. <br />BRESSO ANNEXATION. The public hearing was declared open and the affidavits of publication and mailing were <br />ordered filed. Mrs. Alice Rankin addressed the Council and asked whether or not applicant was interested <br />in commercial zoning in which caseher improvement club members would protest vigorously. Mr. Bresso, <br />Jr. appeared to represent applicant and advised the Council that their intention was to apply for a R-3 <br />zone to enable them to build apartments on the property. It was explained that the present hearing was <br />to cover the annexation only, that zoning was not under consideration. Public hearing was closed on <br />motion of Councilman Weymouth, seconded by Councilman Herkner and carried. <br />RESOLUTION N0. 2995 FINDING AND DETERMINING THAT PROTEST TO THE PROPOSED ANNEXATION TO THE CITY OF <br />REDWOOD. CITY OF CERTAIN UNAINHABITED TERRITORY DESIGNATED AS "BRESSO ANNEXATION" HASNOT BEEN MADE BY <br />OWNERS OF ONE-HALF OF THE VALUE OF PRIVATE PROHERTY WITHIN SUCH TERRITORY AS SHOWN BY THE LAST EQUALIZED <br />ASSESSMENT ROLL, NOR BY THE OWNERS OF ONE-HAIF 0: THE VALUE OF PUBLICLY OWNED PROPERTY WITHIN SAID <br />TERRITORY AS DETERMINED BY SAID COUNCIL was offered by Councilman Weymouth who moved its adoption, sec- <br />onded by Councilman Herkner and carried unanimously on roll call, Councilmen Granger, Rosselli and <br />Spillers being noted absent. <br />Councilman Weymouth moved introduction of an ordinance Approving annexation to the City of Redwood City <br />of certain uninhabited territory designated as "Bresso Annexation" and herein described, and herein <br />annexing said territory to said City of Redwood City, seconded by Councilman Herkner and carried. <br />Councilman Weymouth moved adjournment to 4:Ou p. m., Wednesday, March 2, 1960, said meeting to be held in <br />the Class Room, Police Building, seconded by Councilman Herkner and carried.
