Granger, Ronsia W. Fields, Sidney D. Herkner and Harold C. Stehle re- ceived the highest number ofvotes given for said office of Councilman, and Floyd D. Granger, Ronsia We Fields, Sidney D. Herkner and Harold C. Stehle were thereby elected Councilmen for the full term of four (4) years, and the City Clerk is hereby authorized to sign and deliver to said Floyd D. Granger, Ronsia W. Fields, Sidney D. Herkner and Harold C. Stehle a Certificate of Election and to administer to each of said persons the Oath of Offise prescribed in the Constitution of the State of California. PASSED AND ADOPTED this 18th day of April, 1960, by the folloofing vote: AYES: Councilmen Fields, Granger, Herkner, Rosselli, Spillers, Weymouth and Mayor Royer. NOES: None ABSENT: None Signed: William H. Roger Mayor of the City of Redwood City, California Attest: Signed: Helen C. Moore City Clerk Remarks were made by Robert Spillers, Floyd D. Granger, Sidney D. Herkner, Ray A. Weymouth, John 11 Rosselli, Ron Fields, and Mayor William Royer* Councilman Spillers moved that the Council adjourn sine die, seconded by Councilman Fields and carried. Meeting adjourned, 10:23 P. m. City Clerk Moore called the meeting to order at 10:24 P. me and administered the Oath of Office to the newly , elected members of the City Council, Floyd D. G ranger, Ronsia W. F ields, Sidney D. Herkner and Harold C. Stehle. She then asked for nominations for Mayor for the next two years. Councilman Herkner nomina- ted Ray Weymouth, seconded by Councilman Rosselli. Councilman Rosselli moved that the nominations be POOR closed and the Clerk cast a white ballot for Councilman Weymouth (MINUTE ORDER #60-112), seconded by Councilman Royer and carried unanimously on roll call. The Clerk declared Councilman Weymouth Mayor for the next ensuing two years. Mayor Weymouth took over t he Mayorfs chair and proceeded with the regular order of business. �•. George W. Parker, 3692 Brandy Rock Way, reminded the Council of the mandate of the people and asked that i the Council back up the citizens and take a stand against anyaction the County might shake with regard to a sales tax. Councilman Herkner moved adoption of RESOLUTION N0. 3049 COMMENDING ROBERT V. SPILLERS FOR HIS TWELVE YEARS SERVICE AS A CITY COUNCILMAN, seconded by Councilman Rosselli who asked that the resolution be made in the form of a scroll. The resolution carried unanimously on roll call. Mayor Weymouth called on Harold Stehle as the new Councilman for a few remarks.
