458 <br />THE NAME "EDGWOCD ANNEXATION NO. 1-C"; MAKING CERTAIN FINDINGS RESPECTING SAID PROCEEDINGS; AND GIVING <br />NOTICE OF THE TIME AND PLACE SAID COUNCIL WILL HEAR PROTESTS TO SAID ANNEXATION., seconded by Councilman <br />Herkner and carried unanimously on roll call., Councilman Royer being noted absent. (public hearing June <br />13, 1960) <br />Recommendation from Legislative Committee regarding Proposition No. 1s Cal -Vets loan. Councilman Herkner moved <br />adoption of RESOLUTION NO. 3068 ENDORSING PROPOSITION NO. 1 ON THE JUNE BALLOT AT THE STATEWIDE ELECTIONS <br />PROVIDING FOR AUTHORIZATION CF $400,9000..000 VETERANS BONDS FOR CONTINUANCE OF VETERANS FARM AND HOME LOAN <br />PROGRAM, seconded by Councilman Granger and carried on roll call with Councilmen Granger., Herknerp Rosselli <br />and Mayor Weymouth voting yes., Councilmen Fields and Stehle voting no and Councilman Royer being noted absent. <br />COMMUNICATIONS: <br />Letter from S. H. Krei.ss, Building Inspector, regarding Mrs. Manuel Morales, statements at the Council meeting <br />on April 25, 1960. <br />San Mateo County Fair Association extended an invitation to the Council to authorize a group or organization <br />within Redwood City to conduct a beauty contest to select a participant for the "Dream Girl" beauty contest <br />to be held Thursday, July 21.q 1960 at 7:00 P. me at the San Mateo County fairgrounds. Mayor Weymouth referred <br />the letter to the City Manager and asked that he contact the Junior Chamber of Commerce to see if they would <br />be interested. <br />State of Washington Board of Prison Terms and Paroles acknowledged receipt of a copy of our resolution re- <br />lative to the fatal attack on Verne Fore. The letter was given to the Police Chief, <br />Frank S. Skill.mans Planning Directors San Mateo Countyp regarding possible preparation of a house numbering <br />plan for San Mateo County, in which the City was asked to participate financially. There will be a meting <br />on Thursday afternoon., May 5, 1960 at 2:00 p* m9 in the County -Supervisors Chambers. Councilman Herkner <br />and Stehles Building Inspector Kreiss and Planning Director Wilkinson were going to attend the meeting. <br />Councilman Rosselli moved adoption of RESOLUTION N0, 3069 COMMENDING MIKE KERNAN FOR BEING NAMED ONE CF 14 WESTERN <br />NEffSMEN HONORED FOR "EXCELLENT REPORT CF PUBLIC AFFAIRS"s seconded by Counellman Granger and carried unani- <br />mously on roll calls, Councilman Royer being noted absent. <br />Councilman Rosselli moved adoption of RESOLUTION N0., 3070 COMMENDING THE REDWOOD CITY TRIBUNE ON THEIR 37TH <br />ANNIVERSARYf seconded by Councilman Fields and carried unanimously on roll calls Councilman Royer being <br />noted absent. <br />Councilman Granger asked that the Council receive the Planning Commission minutes prior to the Council meetings. <br />This was followed by discussion on the trampoline use permit that was granted by the Planning Commission at <br />their last meeting on April 26th. <br />Claims 32582 through 32742, totaling $236$262-39s, were ordered paid in motion of Councilman Herkners seconded by <br />Councilman Stehle and carried. <br />Councilman Stehle moved that the meeting be adjourned to Thursday nights May 5th, at 8:00 p, m* in the Veterans <br />Memorial Building to discuss the election outcome of proposed Five Points Interchange and what can be done <br />about its, seconded by Councilman Fields.
