Mr. <br /> Fales advised also that $2,037 should be added to Law Errforcement <br /> to provide the City's share of the Criminal Justice Council <br /> requirement. <br /> In response to question relating�to estimates of funds expected <br /> to be derived from traffic citations, Director of Finance Ference <br /> advised that his estimates are always conservative because of the <br /> many variables involved. <br /> OTHER PUBLIC SAFETY PROGRAMS <br /> Weed Control - Assistant City Manager Smith advised that the <br /> ounty has assured the City that they have included in their <br /> budget funds to provide for the landscaping of County parking <br /> ' lots. <br /> In response to question relating to enforcement of the <br /> ordinance requiring paving and maintenance of lots used for <br /> parking, Mr. Fales advised they are being followed one by <br /> one, but the City does not have enough staff to follow all <br /> closely. <br /> Discussion followed and Mr. Fales and Director of Public Works <br /> A"'"' Pusich commented and replied to questfons concerning the weed <br /> control program; the requirement that property owners pay for <br /> the service if they have not done the work themselves; <br /> � whether a fine could be added to the service charge; main- <br /> tenance of Broadway; the possible use of landscaping and <br /> lighting districts; and whether Veterans Boulevard could <br /> be included in any such district. <br /> COhpYIUNITY DEVELOPMENT pp. 31-38 <br /> COMMUNITY PROMOTION <br /> City Manager fales referred to the proposal dated May 11, 1979 <br /> which was received from the Chamber of Commerce wherein the <br /> Chamber asks for a regular source of funds from the City to be <br /> based on revenues generated by the business community in return <br /> for which the Chamber would operate an Office of Public Infor- <br /> mation full-time and provide two hours a day for business <br /> development and assistance. <br /> Budget Study <br /> 5/12/79 <br /> Page 6 <br /> � <br /> r�r. <br /> / � <br />
