(continued) Director Schroeter advised that the Comnittee <br /> evaluates aesthetics, color, style, etc. and <br /> may be more restrictive than the sign ordinance <br /> requires, but that it is spelled out in their <br /> approval that it is sub�ect to the sign's <br /> meeting Code requirements. <br /> Discussion followed and Mr. Cassidy and City <br /> Manager Fales commented and replied to questions � <br /> concerning the effectiveness of the sign ordi- :� <br /> nance in improving appearances in the City; the <br /> fact that there are no exceptions elsewhere in <br /> the City; the lack of intent of the sign company <br /> to violate the ordinance; the cost of re- <br /> constructing the sign to meet requirements; <br /> whether changes in the sign ordinance might be <br /> indicated; and the fact that other businesses <br /> have expressed no difficulty in meeting its <br /> requirements. <br /> Mayor Barret� invited anyone else present who <br /> wished to speak to do so. <br /> �John Coo �er, 1580 Maple Street, suggested the <br /> s gi n �s satisfactory as it is, since there was <br /> evidently no intent to violate the law.
