Rhodes � <br /> �,.,�. <br /> Meet3ng of the City Council as <br /> � BOARD OF EQUALIZATION � � � <br /> f � � <br /> ; The Council of the City of Redwood City met on this <br /> i date at 10 :00 a.m. as a Board of Equalization to <br /> € equalize the Assesment Roll of General Improvement <br /> � District No. 1-64. <br /> � <br /> � <br /> Roll Call <br /> Councilmen present : Ba�rett, Henderson, Norris, Rhodes <br /> and Mayor Weymouth <br /> I� Councilmen absent: Leipzig, Williams <br /> ; Public Hearing ' <br /> Mayor Weymouth declared open the public hearing with ,� <br /> regard to the Assessment Roll of GID No. 1-64. <br /> � Mayor Weymouth announced that affidavits of publication '��` <br /> of notice of hearing are on file in the office of the <br /> , City Assessor. <br /> In response to question, City Clerk Hildebrand stated <br /> that no written protests or other communications had <br /> ' been received with regard to the �ub�ect hearing. <br /> Councilman Norris referred to his memorandum not yet <br /> distributed to Council concerning the equity of assess- <br /> � ments and calling attention particularly to the fact <br /> that some parcels of land improved but not built upon <br /> � have not increased in assessment value since 1970, <br /> while one par�el in the same category had increased in <br /> value 40y6. <br /> ` Discussion followed and City Attorney Schricker advised <br /> ' with regard to what might be considered at a meeting <br /> of the Council as a Board of Equalization. Mr. <br /> Schricker stated that the Board is not set up only for <br /> ` the purpose of hearing protests but may consider equity <br /> E of assessment in the entire District, provided there <br /> � is some tangible evidence that the recommended assess- '"""°' <br /> � ments are not correct or equal.
