 `
City Assessor Ference referred to his memorandwn of
July 12 and acknowledged he and John Phillips, repre-
sentative of Marshall & Stevens, Inc. , the professional
appraiser for the City, have talked to Councilman
Norris regarding the equity of the proposed assess-
ments.

Discussion continued with regard to the August 5
deadline for presenting the Assessment Roll to the
County and whether the present meeting might be ad-
ourned to a later date.
John Philli s, appraiser from Marshall & Stevens, Inc. ,
sae e assessments were set up as of the March
lien date at which time the building moratorium had
not been lifted. He admitted it was inconsistent to
increase the assessed value of one parcel when the
value of six identical parcels was not increased.
Mr. Phillips tated that the value of the other par-
cels should have been assessed at the higher value
also, if equity of treatment is to prevail.
Mr. Phillips and City Assessor Ference replied to
questions from Council members and City Attorney
Schricker concerning details with regard to deter-
mination of value of certafn properties in GID No.
1-64. Mr. Phillips also stated that reassessment
of the six subect parcels does not present any
,,, problem since they are in the same category, Mr.
Ference estimated that the work can be done in less

than two weeks.
MOTION: Councilman Henderson moved, seconded by
Councilman Norris, to continue the Board of Equaliza-
tion hearing to :00 p.m,, Monday, July 22, 19?4 at
the Community Activities Building at which time a
revised Assessment Roll for General Improvement Dis-
trict No. 1-6 will be presented.
The motion carried unanimously by voice vote.
The Board of Equalization adourned at 11 :14 a.m.
JACQUELINE C. HILDEBRAND
City Clerk

-2-
 Bd.of Equal.
?/15/7
--,.,. .
