� � � <br /> ' MOTION : Title having been rea.d, Councilman Barrett <br /> introduced the following resolution and moved, seconded <br /> by Councilman L,eipzig, its adoption : <br /> RESOLUTION APPROVING CONTRACT DOCUMENTS FOR THE <br /> PURCHASE OF ONE CARD PUNCH/�VERIFIER/INTERPRETER; <br /> � � AND AUTHORIZING CITY CLERK TO CALL FOR BIDS <br /> � THEREFOR <br /> � <br /> AMENDMENT : Councilman Rhodes moved, seconded by Coun- <br /> cilman Norris, to amend the ma,intenance requir.ement in <br /> the specifications to change "twenty miles" to "twenty- <br /> eight miles. " <br /> AMENDMENT CHANGE: Councilman Rhodes, with the consent <br /> of his second, changed the amendment to the maintenance <br /> requirement in the specifications to substituting <br /> "thirty miles" for "twenty miles. " <br /> Comment was made that prompt maintenance service is <br /> not necessarily a function of mileage and rewording <br /> of the specifications to reflect the requirement for <br /> prompt service without referring to mileage was sug- <br /> gested. In response to question, Mr. Smith advised <br /> tha,t it would be preferable to delay consideration of <br /> the proposed resolution calling for bids at this time <br /> pending receipt of a staff report concerning the main- <br /> tenance requirement and the number of potential bidders, <br /> ra.ther tha,n to proceed and obtain only a sin�le bid. <br /> ,,,�,,,,, AMENDMENT WITHDR.AWN: Councilman Rhodes, with the con- <br /> sent of his second, withdrew his proposed amendment. <br /> "`�`" MOTION WITHDRAWN: Councilman Barrett, with the con- <br /> sent of his second, withdrew his motion to adopt the <br /> proposed resolution. <br /> MOTION: Councilman Henderson moved, seconded by Coun- <br /> cilman Rhodes, that consideration of calling for bids <br /> . for the Card punch/`Verifier/Interpreter equipment be <br /> continued for two weeks while a staff report on the <br /> sub�ect is prepared. <br /> The motion carried unanimously by voice vote. <br /> (MINUTE ORDER N0. 74-155) <br /> Award of bid - demolition of <br /> 9 3 Jefferson Avenue Building <br /> Assistant City Manager Smith referred to his report of <br /> August 8, 1974 recommending that Council award contract <br /> to Fontana & Sons of South Sa.n Francisco in the amount <br /> of $E,320 for the subject demolition. <br /> !"'""'
