Mtg . <br /> M I N U T E S <br /> Adjourned Regular Meeting <br /> City Council <br /> of the <br /> City of Redwood City <br /> Port Administration Building <br /> February 5 , 1974 <br /> The Council of the City of Redwood City met in joint session with the Redwood City <br /> Board of Port Commissioners on this date at 7 : 30 p . m . <br /> Roll Call <br /> Councilmen present : Henderson , Williams and Mayor Keckley <br /> Councilmen absent : Leipzig , Norris , Rhodes ( entered the meeting at 7 : 43 p . m . ) , <br /> and Weymouth <br /> Commissioners present : Brown , Doupnik , Johnson , Mauk and Webber <br /> Officials and staff present : Port Manager Di Pietro , City Manager Pales , City <br /> Attorney Schricker , Assistant Port Manager Campbell , Secretary Bean and Deputy <br /> City Clerk Reggetts <br /> There being no quorum of the Council present , Chairman Brown presided over the <br /> meeting . <br /> Chairman Brown welcomed the members of the Council and expressed appreciation for <br /> their interest in attending the meeting . The forthcoming National League of. Cities <br /> Conference in Washington , D . C . , March 3 - 5 , 1974 , was discussed , and a determination <br /> made of Commissioners who expect to attend . Chairman Brown urged that as many com- <br /> missioners attend the Conference as are able , and Mayor Keckley and Councilman <br /> Henderson concurred . <br /> Councilman Rhodes entered the meeting at 7 : 43 p . m . <br /> During further discussion of plans for the Conference in Washington , Councilman <br /> Henderson suggested that the Commissioners carry business cards to identify them <br /> with the Port , and Port Manager Di Pietro indicated that an order would be placed <br /> immediately . <br /> Port Manager Di Pietro described in some detail prospects for development and ex - <br /> pansion of Port facilities , suggesting that the Port has great potential as an <br /> asset to the City , In response to questions by Council , he reviewed possibilities <br /> for acquisition of property for expansion , and the amount of acreage involved . He <br /> stated that Leslie Salt was phasing out its operation , and expressed the belief that <br /> the Port has the capability of operating the salt pile and any other commodity com- <br /> patible with salt .
