Mark Gray , 950 Iris , Redwood City , Manager of the Canada Recycling <br /> Center , described the activities at the Center and the difficulties <br /> encountered in attempting to have a volunteer student serve as manager . <br /> Mr . Gray stated that he has received some apparently favorable response <br /> to his appeals to Woodside and Portola Valley for financial assistance <br /> which would permit the Center to hire a parttime paid manager . He re - <br /> quested financial assistance from Redwood City . <br /> Mayor Keckley and City Manager Fales commented on discussions which have <br /> been held with the scavenger companies and others and on the establish - <br /> ment of. the Solid Waste Study Committee in San Mateo County . It was <br /> suggested the Committee might be the appropriate organization for the <br /> Center to approach . <br /> Mayor Keckley asked Councilman Williams , the City ' s representative to <br /> the Solid Waste Study Committee , to work with Mr .
