87 MOTION : Titles having been read , Councilman Williams introduced the following resolutions and moved , seconded by Councilman Weymouth , their adoption : Resolution No , 7116 Approving Contract Documents for the Purchase of Data Processing Equipment ( EDP) ; and Authorizing City Clerk to Call for Bids Therefor Resolution No . 7117 Approving Contract Documents for the Financing of the Purchase of Data. Processing Equipment ( EDP) : and Authorizing City Clerk to Call for Bids Therefor The resolutions were adopted unanimously by roll call vote . Consent Calendar Councilman Henderson requested permission to attend the League of California Cities Community Development Committee meeting in Los Angeles on Friday , February 22 , advising she has been reappointed Chairman of that committee . (MINUTE ORDER NO . 74-24 ) Councilman Henderson announced that City Manager Fales has been reappointed to the Public Safety Committee of the League of California Cities and Councilman Leipzig has been appointed to the League Committee on Human Resources Development . Coun- cilman Rhodes was reappointed to the Committee on Transportation . Mayor Keckley expressed his pleasure at the statewide recognition the League appointments bring to the City . MOTION : Titles having been read , Councilman Norris moved , seconded by Councilman Rhodes , approval of the following ordinances and items , including approval of the request of Councilman Henderson to attend the meeting of the Community Development Committee on February 22 : Ordinance Establishing Salaries for Certain Designated Employees of the Redwood City Fire Department ; and Repealing Ordinance No . 1554 ( first reading ) Ordinance No . 1591 Establishing Salaries for Certain Designated Employees of the City of Redwood City ; Repealing Ordinance No . 1556 (approved for first reading 1/28/74) Ordinance No . 1592 Amending Section 4 of Ordinance No . 1557 , Establishing Salaries for Certain Employees of the City of Redwood City , to Include the Positions of Clerk , Library Page , and Umpires -Referees -Scorer , and Delete the Positions of Library Page I , Library Page II , Engineering Construction Inspector , and Scorer ; ' and to Modify the Hourly Compensation for Certain Seasonal and Temporary Employees ( approved for first reading 1/28/74 ) Property damage claim : California Casualty Insurance Co . on behalf of James and Virginia Dunstan , 1900 Alameda de las Pulgas , San Mateo ; automobile damage allegedly caused by negligent operation of City emergency vehicle . Oral Communications 1 . Mark Gray , 950 Iris , Redwood City , Manager of the Canada Recycling Center , described the activities at the Center and the difficulties encountered in attempting to have a volunteer student serve as manager . Mr . Gray stated that he has received some apparently favorable response to his appeals to Woodside and Portola Valley for financial assistance which would permit the Center to hire a parttime paid manager . He re - quested financial assistance from Redwood City . Mayor Keckley and City Manager Fales commented on discussions which have been held with the scavenger companies and others and on the establish - ment of. the Solid Waste Study Committee in San Mateo County . It was suggested the Committee might be the appropriate organization for the Center to approach . Mayor Keckley asked Councilman Williams , the City ' s representative to the Solid Waste Study Committee , to work with Mr . Gray .
