� 54 ; I Public Hearin - C rcu at on E ement of the General Plan i ; Mayor Weymouth announced that the public hearing was ; open and ordered affidavit of publication filed. City Manager Fales noted that the proposed element had been ,,,,� , forwarded to Council on September 20 for review. � Planning Director Schroeter expressed pleasure in that � ' the last element of the General Plan was now before Council. He reviewed portions of the proposed element, advising that the study was accomplished in cooperation : with consultants. He explained that the scope of the � element entailed more comprehensive considerations than simply automobile traffic. He noted ten specific recom- ` mendations which represented public works improvements. � In responding to questions by Council, Mr. Schroeter indicated that with regard to removal of parking spaces on E1 Camino Real, it was not known specifically the number that would be eliminated, but estimated it may be one out of two to three. Further, that the recommenda- tions for E1 Camino Real improvements had been arrived at by the City in cooperation with the businessmen in- volved. In further discussion,by Council, it was pointed out that the element is intended to serve merely as a guide- line . Two recommendations having the greatest effect on adjoining properties were noted to be the Broadway- � � Marshall-Spring Connection, and the Roosevelt-Lathrop- P Cedar Connection. The Planning Director commented on , � � the fact that among the ob�ectives in considering the � f various elements was enhancement of identity with the � community so that it becomes regarded as home, rather i than �ust a place to pass through. ! Mayor Weymouth invited anyone else present who wished to � speak to do so. No one present wished to address the ; Council. � MOTION: Councilman Williams moved, seconded by Barrett, 4 to close the public hearing. ` The motion carried unanimously by voice vote. k The public hearin� was closed at 8 ;p5 p.m. ' � MOTION: Title having been read, Councilman Norris in- troduced the following resolution and moved, seconded , by Councilman Leipzig, its adoption: RESOLUTION N0. 7281 ADOPTING CIRCULATION ELEMENT FOR THE GENERAL PLAN OF THE CITY OF RIDWOOD CITY � E AMENDMENT: Councilman Rhodes moved that the resolution � be amended to state that no parking spaces be removed � in the E1 Camino Real Improvements. � � The amendment failed for lack of a second. � i . i -2- � Reg.Mt . � lp/?/?� � � I � . .� . ,. .
