, 2h � <br /> rv . <br /> i <br /> ; The motion carried on the following roll call vote : <br /> � Ayes : Councilmen Barrett, Henderson, Leipzig, <br /> ; Norris, Williams and Mayor Weymouth <br /> � � <br /> ` Noes : Councilman Rhodes <br /> (MINUTE ORDER N0. 7�4-197� ,,,� <br /> � <br /> ' Park and Recreation Commission recommendation <br /> re mas er s te p an - Stu sa Par <br /> ' Assistant City Manager Smith referred to the City <br /> Manager' s report of October 8, 1974 attaching a report <br /> of the Director of Parks and Recreation, dated September 26, <br /> regarding a master site plan for Stulsaft Park. <br /> Director of Parks and Recreation Weeks introduced <br /> Theodore Osmundson, the landscape architect who has pre- <br /> pared a Master Plan for the development of Stulsaft Park. <br /> Theodore Osmundson, Theodore Osmundson and Associates, <br /> San Francisco, exhibited slides and commented concerning <br /> the present condition of Stulsaft Park and the equipment <br /> in use there, the proposed concepts of various areas to <br /> , be developed a,nd the overa.11 park plan including walk- <br /> ways and ma�or views. - <br /> Discussion followed and Mr. Osmundson a.nd Mr. Weeks re- <br /> � plied to questions concerning the adequacy of the pro- <br /> s posed parking facilities; the anticipated group use of "�"'" <br /> i the park; the possibility of including a small office <br /> j for a, ranger or other park attendant; the relatively �°� <br /> � low maintenance cost anticipated in the naturally de- <br /> � veloped park; the possibility of acquiring off-site <br /> � parking space ; the intention of permitting native cover <br /> • to return to eroded park areas and the problems en- <br /> , countered previously by growth of poison oak; and de- <br /> tails of the plan with regard to lighting and park hours. <br /> Brad Bosch, 1218 Carson, a student at San Jose State, <br /> � s�e3�ie is doing a conservation study on Stulsaft <br /> ;, Park and urged that a major study on use and of the <br /> , na.tural animals and plants be completed before any <br /> k development is undertaken. <br /> � <br /> � John Crevelt, 1434 Mitchell Way, resident near the park <br /> I en rance a Recreation Way, stated he is concerned about <br /> � maintenance cost; was unaware of the two neighborhood <br /> ' meetings previously advertised and held May 29 and May 30; <br /> � agrees there should be a use study before development is <br /> t commenced; suggested the Stulsaft Will be examined re- <br /> � � gardin� park use ; and stated that the park is adequate <br /> ! in its .present state.
