Mr. Gardella advised that <br /> ,,..,� <br /> such maps are expensive, and the developer wished to <br /> obtain the Planned Development Permit before procee ng <br /> further. Mr. Gardella replied to questions from Council <br /> �'� y regarding the proposed development. <br /> Chuck Riffle, Currie, Lebsack & Hannig, attorney for the <br /> neig or oo group in opposition to granting of the sub- <br /> ject permit, showed slides depicting statements of the <br /> group with regard to their belief the development is <br /> not in harmony with the present neighborhood; a quote <br /> from Section �46.7 of the Code; a statement as to why the <br /> neighbors believe the development is not in harmony with <br /> the neighborhood; photos of the neighborhood; sketch of <br /> the proposed modern units; the proposed development; and <br /> Section 34•51 of the Subdivision Code regarding cul de <br /> sacs. Mr. Riffle suggested that if the permit is granted, <br /> the Council will have indicated general approval of the <br /> subdivision maps before they are presented. Mr. Riffle <br /> stated that essentially the people of the neighborhood <br /> do not believe the proposed lot-line units fit the <br /> present neighborhood and that permit should not be <br /> granted until more is known about the final development. <br /> Lengthy discussion followed and City Attorney Schricker <br /> replied to questions concerning the relationship of the <br /> ^^ Tentative a.nd Final Subdivision Map requirements to the <br /> Planned Development Permit. __ <br /> `� Mrs. Ral h Arellano, 1808 Valota Road, indicated her <br /> res ence on e s ide of the subject neighborhood and <br /> urged the subject permit be granted in order that the <br /> neighborhood might have a uniform development of the <br /> entire property. Mrs. Arellano commented on the fire <br /> safety of the proposed units; on the right of property <br /> owners to rent their property; and on the existing <br /> duplex development across the road on Kansas Street. <br /> MOTION: Councilman Leipzig moved, seconded by Council- <br /> man Rhodes, to close the public hearing. <br /> The motion carried unanimously by voice vote. <br /> The public hearing was closed at 8 :55 p.m. <br /> MOTION: Title having been read, Councilman Barrett in- <br /> troduced the following resolution and moved its adoption <br /> with an added condition (e ) that the Subdivision Map <br /> be filed and recorded and that the determination be <br /> made that the proposed development meets the require- <br /> ments of the Subdivision Code section with regard to <br /> !�""' harmony with the existing neighborhood : <br /> �rrw RESOLUTION CONDITIONALLY APPROVING r�PPLICATION FOR <br /> PLANNID DEVELOPMENT PERMIT, RELATING TO REAL <br /> PROPERTY IN THE VICINITY OF VALOTA ROAD AND <br /> ANAMOR STREET <br /> The Motion failed for lack of a second. <br /> _3_ <br /> Reg.Mtg. <br /> 11/11/7� <br />
