Mr. Bills further �tated that the project appears to be quite feasible noTr.. � Discussion Followed cvncerning whether or not the proposed Kresge a developmer?t is dependent upon the present zoning remaining unchanged. i � In response �o question from Councilman Norris as to his a,bility � to participate in view of his absence at the January 7 meetin�;, City Attorney Schricker a�vised that since discussion at that � meeting was limited to the request for continuance and nc� testi- `, money on the proposed Zonir�� Map amendment was given, Councilman � Norris m,ay participate. ; Ci�y Manager Fales stated for the record t!hat zoning matters are related ta land use and not to specific developments. Mr. Fales added that the staff positi�z on the proposed dsvelopment by S. S. Kresg� is only �.s i� �ould apply to any other commercial development in the City and �;hat it is a mistake to consider re- . zoning on the basis of individual pro�jects. Mr. Fales observed � that the role af staff is to advise Council with respect to the publ_i.c interest. � Discussion conti_nued and �lanning Director Schroeter commented with regard to the requirements of the IP (Industria,l Park) and � CG (General Commercial) zones.
