710 <br /> M I N U T E S <br /> City Council <br /> of. the <br /> City of Redwood City <br /> Veterans Memorial Building <br /> January 14 , 1974 <br /> The Council of. the City of Redwood City met on this date at 7 : 30 p . m . in regular <br /> meeting .Jith Mayor Keckley presiding . <br /> Pledge of Allegiance was led by Councilman Norris . <br /> Invocation was led by Reverend Charles Waite , First Free Methodist Church . <br /> Roll Call <br /> Councilmen present : Henderson , Leipzig , Norris , Rhodes , Weymouth and Mayor <br /> Keckley <br /> Councilmen absent : Williams <br /> Officials and staff present : City Manager Fales , Assistant City Manager Smith , <br /> Assistant City Attorney Maloney , City Treasurer- Collector Drivon , City Clerk <br /> Hildebrand and Planning Director Schroeter , Parks and Recreation Director Weeks , <br /> Personnel Director Brock , Police Chief Bold , Police Captain Gsell <br /> Election - Association of Bay Area Governments <br /> Councilmen who had not already done so in the Clerk ' s office voted secret ballots <br /> for President of ABAG . <br /> Acquisition of. property - 1443 Hudson Street <br /> In response to questions from Mayor Keckley , City Clerk Hildebrand advised she has <br /> on file affidavit of publication of "Notice of Intention to Acquire Real Property " <br /> as directed by Resolution No . 7084 authorizing purchase of the subject property and <br /> that no written communications have been received . <br /> Mayor Keckley declared open at 7 : 36 p . m . the public hearing on the intent to ac - <br /> quire the subject property for park use and invited anyone present who wished to <br /> speak to do so . <br /> MOTION : Councilman Weymouth moved , seconded by Councilman Rhodes , to close the <br /> public hearing . <br /> The motion carried unanimously by voice vote , <br /> The public hearing was closed at 7 : 38 p . m . <br /> MOTION : Title having been read , Councilman Henderson introduced the following <br /> ordinance and moved , seconded by Councilman Norris , its approval for first reading : <br /> Ordinance Appropriating 110 , 000 from Unappropriated Balance of Federal <br /> Revenue Sharing Fund to Provide for Certain Real Property to Be used for <br /> Park Purposes <br /> The motion carried unanimously by roll call vote . <br /> Legislative Committee Report <br /> Councilman Henderson , Chairman of. the Legislative Committee presented Committee - - <br /> Report No . 74 - 1 , with the following recommendations : <br /> 1 . State -Wide Park Bond Act <br /> Recommendation : Approval of the fund distribution plan recommended by <br /> the County Priority Planning Commission ; additionally , endorsement of the <br /> recommendation of the Parks and Recreation Commission that such funds as <br /> may be distributed to the City be used for park acquisition purposes to <br /> satisfy neighborhood needs ; and further , approval of the State -Wide Park -- <br /> Bond Act . <br /> 2 , Energy Emergency Act <br /> Recommendation : support of 52589 ( Energy Emergency Act ) . <br /> 1/l4/74 <br /> Reg .
