Employer- Employee Relations <br /> Recommendation : support of SB 522 ; opposition to SB 32 ; opposition to <br /> AB 1243 ; opposition to AB 819 , <br /> Councilman Henderson also announced the following meetings : <br /> 1 . Meeting with Senator Arlen Gregorio on Saturday , February 2 , 1974 , at <br /> 8 : 00 a . m . at the Copper Shield Restaurant . <br /> 2 . A similar meeting is being arranged with Assemblyman Dixon Arnett . <br /> 3 . Governmental Affairs Committee of the Chamber of Commerce will meet at <br /> 7 : 30 a . m . on Tuesday , January 22 , 1974 at Ampex . <br /> 4 . National League of Cities Conference will be held in Washington , D . C . , <br /> March 3 - 5 , 1974 . Matters of particular importance to the City , <br /> including some related to the Port , will be considered and all Council- <br /> men able to do so are urged to attend . <br /> 5 . The Legislative Committee will hold the next meeting at 4 : 00 p . m . , <br /> Tuesday , January 22 in the City Attorney ' s office . <br /> MOTION : Councilman Rhodes moved , seconded by Councilman Weymouth , approval of <br /> Report 74 - 1 submitted by the Legislative Committee and acceptance of the recom- <br /> mendations contained therein and that the appropriate legislators are to be <br /> advised of Council support of S2589 and SB 522 and opposition to SB 32 , AB 1243 <br /> and AB 819 . (MINUTE ORDER NO . 74- 11 ) <br /> The motion carried unanimously by voice vote . <br /> Housing Element - General Plan <br /> Land Use Element -- General Plan <br /> Mayor Keckley announced that in the future when Planning Commission items requir- <br /> ing a hearing are to come before the Council , they will appear first as a Report <br /> from Boards and Commissions for the sole purpose of having the hearing date set <br /> by Council . When the date has been set , the hearing will be advertised , and the <br /> subject will then come before Council for consideration . <br /> MOTION : Councilman Henderson moved , seconded by Councilman Leipzig , that the <br /> hearing date on the Land Use Element of the General Plan be set for the regular <br /> meeting on January 28 , 1974 ; and that the hearing date on the Housing Element of <br /> the General Plan be set for the regular meeting of February 4 , 1974 . <br /> The motion carried unanimously by voice vote . <br /> Mayor Keckley announced that copies of the proposed Land Use and Housing Elements <br /> will be available to anyone interested in the office of the City Clerk at City <br /> Hall , <br /> County Priority Planning Committee - Proposed 1974 State Park Bond Act Funds <br /> Councilman Leipzig presented the report of December 21 , 1973 of the County Priority <br /> Planning Committee on the proposed 1974 State Park Bond Act Funds . <br /> MOTION : Title having been read , Councilman Leipzig introduced the following reso- <br /> lution and moved , seconded by Councilman Norris , its adoption : <br /> Resolution No . 7090 Approving Priority Plan for Distribution of San Mateo <br /> County Allocation of Proposed Statewide 1974 Park Bond Act Funds , and <br /> Approving Recommended Use Thereof <br /> The resolution was adopted unanimously by roll call vote . <br /> Fee schedules - recreation facilities <br /> MOTION : Councilman Rhodes moved that the American Association of Retired Persons <br /> and the National Association of Retired People be permitted to use meeting rooms in <br /> the recreation facilities free of charge . <br /> City Manager Fales and Parks and Recreation Director Weeks replied to questions <br /> and discussion followed concerning present free use of the building by Redwood <br /> City senior citizens in the City co - sponsored groups , the status of AARP and NARP <br /> which qualifies them for Group IV fees , the desirability of extending the use of <br /> facilities at no cost to organizations composed principally of non-Redwood City <br /> citizens and the obligation to Redwood City taxpayers with regard to payment for <br /> use of City facilities . <br /> 1/14/74 <br /> Reg .
