Q7Q Mayor Keckley advised how procedure should be commenced with recommendations to Council through proper channels and specifics given in order that Council could support such an application . City Manager stated next year ' s budget did include funding for Commission but that it was a budgeted sub -program under administration of the Park and Recreation Department , not.-, only so there would be some means of funding through normal accounting system , but would also include clerical staffing , experienced advisory assistance through Director of Department , in fact whole of recreation activities . no felt there were many common areas of endeavor to afford a means for liaison with other group activities in other areas , such as program mentioned earlier of restoration and preservation of historical buildings , involving three other. Commissions . Suggestion also made that it might be well for their Commission to assign one of their members to Planning , Park and Recreation , and Architectural Review Committee , for better liaison . In response to questioning possibility of publicity for cultural events of interest to the whole community , the City ' s Newsletter was mentioned as one source where news would be welcome and advised of procedures . Recreation Department had already made a new innovation in combining their summer recreation program for distribution with the next Newsletter and saved a great deal of cost in duplication of mailing .
