445 <br /> Mayor Keckley noted the recent appointment of Chief of Police John R . McDonald , <br /> Jr . , as Sheriff of San Mateo County effective July 1 , 19?3 , and read in full <br /> RESOLUTION NO , 6941 CONGRATULATING AND COMMENDING JOHN R . McDONALD ON THE <br /> OCCASION OF HIS APPOINTMENT AS SHERIFF OF THE COUNTY OF SAN MATEO , which had <br /> been signed by each of the Council Members . The resolution is to be prepared <br /> as a plaque for presentation to Chief McDonald . <br /> Mayor Keckley called forward the Council ' s new appointees to the Fair Oaks <br /> Advisory Board , for presentation of Certificates of Appointment to Miguel <br /> Maldonado and Beatrice Ontiveros , Mr . Jim Mestas was not present to accept <br /> his appointment , and Mr . William Floyd appeared later in the meeting to receive <br /> his Certificate . <br /> Newly appointed members of the Architectural Review Committee , Lee Greenfield <br /> and Bodil Mollegaard , were administered the Loyalty Oath by the City Clerk , <br /> following which they were presented with their Certificates of Appointment . <br /> Fred Soderer , reappointed , and Elise Johnson , newly appointed to the Planning <br /> Commission, were administered the Loyalty Oath by the City Clerk , and presented <br /> by Mayor Keckley with their Certificates of Appointment . <br /> Mayor Keckley also presented Elise Johnson with a plaque in recognition of <br /> her many contributions in the service of the community , including activities <br /> as member of the Elementary School Board , and with the Redwood City-School <br /> Liaison Committee . Mrs , Johnson accepted the plaque with appropriate remarks . <br /> Judge Allison Rouse , reappointed , and Lucile Johnson , newly appointed as <br /> members of the Library Board of Trustees , were administered the Loyalty Oath <br /> by the City Clerk , and presented by Mayor Keckley with their Certificates of <br /> Appointment , <br /> Presentations were then made to retiring members by Mayor Keckley , of Certificates <br /> of Distinguished Service , as follows : Marty Mohr , retiring from the Planning <br /> Commission , Ardeen Merry , from the Library Board of Trustees , and Constant <br /> Davis , from the Architectural Review Committee , <br /> PUBLIC HEARING, Appeal from denial by the Planning Commission on Application of <br /> THE BROADWAY - Owner, William J . Ward , to amend the Zoning Map to rezone property <br /> located at 533 - 535 Middlefield Road , from "CA " ( Central Administrative ) District <br /> to "CB " ( Central Business ) District , declared open and affidavits of publi - <br /> cation and mailing ordered filed . <br /> At request of Mayor Keckley , Planning Director reviewed the circumstances of <br /> the application before the Planning Commission to rezone property at Middlefield <br /> and Bradford , which would have extended the Central Business zoning into the <br /> District presently zoned Central Administrative , Planning Commission action <br /> 6/25/73 <br /> Reg .
