( Council action would <br /> authorize usual and necessary payment of bills during this period . ) <br /> (MINUTE ORDER #73 - 90) <br /> Councilman Leipzig moved to approve CONSENT CALENDAR , Items (a ) through ( d ) <br /> and ( f) through ( j ) , seconded by Councilman Henderson and carried on roll <br /> call vote . <br /> Councilman Henderson reiterated her concern with respect to Peninsula Celebra- <br /> tion Association budget request , and recommended that the $ 1 , 000 not be <br /> included in the budget next year , in order to provide an opportunity to <br /> review the request made for this year . <br /> COMMUNICATIONS : <br /> 1 . Request of David Ransom , representing Housing Union , to appear before <br /> Council concerning condition of property at 169-175 Northumberland <br /> Avenue . <br /> Arthur Keyes , 126 Dumbarton Avenue, advised he was <br /> speaking for Mr . Ransom , noted that the lot in <br /> question had been cleaned up , and asked what steps <br /> would be taken to see that the land does not become <br /> a dump again . He suggested it be used as a park <br /> until such time as it is developed . <br /> City Manager advised with respect to the cleanup that it was part of City ' s <br /> regular weed abatement program , and that where the owners have failed to <br /> clean their lots , City ' s contractor does the work and that expense becomes <br /> a lien on the property . Often the City must rely on just such complaints <br /> from the general public in order to effect a correction . <br /> Frank S . Williams , 140 Northumberland , complained <br /> of heavy truck traffic on Northumberland , and suggested <br /> weight limit signs be posted . <br /> Leola Matthews , 200 Dumbarton , Apt . 14 , stated she <br /> had lived at 169 Northumberland , one of the dwellings <br /> demolished to build a warehouse , and that the ware - <br /> house has not been built yet . <br /> David Ransom , 590 Chestnut , critized the demolition <br /> of the buildings , and felt that the residents could <br /> have stayed there a few more months . <br /> Mayor Keckley asked that the matter be referred to staff for investigation . <br /> (Memo 6-26-73 ) <br /> Councilman Henderson moved to adjourn at 10 : 01 p . m . to Executive Session for <br /> discussion pertaining to pending litigation, seconded by Councilman Weymouth <br /> and carried . ( City Clerk was excused ) <br /> Regular meeting reconvened at 11 : 22 p . m . , and thereafter adjourned on motion of <br /> Councilman Leipzig , seconded by Councilman Norris and carried .
