City Manager noted that with respect to State funds , the Metropolitan Transportation Commission (MTC ) had required all cities , in order to get allocations , to adopt a resolution regarding willingness of our community to utilize facilities for an area -wide approach to transportation . Mayor Keckley noted that one of the proposals by the Committee had been to try out a cross -City bus route . Councilman Rhodes responded that the Committee would have a recommendation on this route at a later time , that it had been considered but did not seem to be feasible , but in any case , it was awaiting the traffic control study . Mr . Ronald MacQuarrie , President , Redwood Shores Homeowners ' Association , indicated there had been a number of inquiries regarding lack of public transportation into their area , and wondered if a study was being undertaken to provide service to Redwood Shores . Councilman Rhodes advised that this awaited an increase in population at Redwood Shores , and that if the shopping center question is resolved , he felt that service might go in at that time . City Manager noted that some of the funds are being used County-wide aimed at satisfying requirements of MTC , and Redwood Shores was being specifically considered as part of that process . Councilman Norris moved to accept Reports ( a ) and (b ) in principle , and to schedule an adjourned regular Council meeting for August 22 , 1973 for Item ( a ) (GID 1 -64) , seconded by Councilman Rhodes and arried . Councilman Weymouth moved to adopt RESOLUTION NO , 6962 APPROVING SPECIFICATIONS FOR THE PURCHASE OF GASOLINE FOR THE PERIOD OF SEPTEMBER 1 , 1973 - AUGUST 31 , 1974 ; AND AUTHORIZING CALL FOR BIDS THEREFOR, and RESOLUTION NO , 6963 APPROVING SPECIFICATIONS FOR GARMENT AND CLOTH SHOP SUPPLIES - RENTAL SERVICE AND LAUNDRY SERVICE FOR CITY--OWNED PROPERTY ; AND AUTHORIZING CITY CLERK TO CALL FOR BIDS THEREFOR, seconded by Councilman Rhodes and carried on roll call vote , Councilmen Henderson , Leipzig , and Williams being noted absent . State Division of Highways Resurfacing Project for portion of El Camino . State had requested that City enter into an agreement for reimbursement to State for costs to adjust five sanitary sewer manholes to grade as part of their resurfacing project . Staff felt this would be in the best interests of the City and recommended approval , Councilman Norris moved to adopt RESOLUTION NO , 6964 APPROVING AND AUTHORIZ - ING EXECUTION OF AGREEMENT WITH STATE OF CALIFORNIA RELATING TO ADJUSTING TO 7 -23 -73 Reg . Mtg .
