City Manager noted that Council had <br /> previously been advised that the State was doing a study , not only <br /> with respect to Ralston Avenue , and its effect on Marine World , but <br /> also the Holly Street interchange , which provides primary access to <br /> the Redwood Shores area . They had indicated the study will be in <br /> conjunction with Laurie Meadows Lane , to get coordinated input on <br /> the effect on Holly Street interchange , and construction of a shop - <br /> ping center in Redwood Shores , along with extension of Laurie <br /> Meadows Lane into Redwood Shores . Councilman Norris expressed <br /> concern with respect to a tremendous amount of foot traffic over <br /> the Ralston interchange bridge into Marine World , and that the <br /> State had not provided a safe means of crossing the freeway at that <br /> point . He hoped the City could exert its influence to get some <br /> relief for this situation . (Memo 3/13/73 ) <br /> Vice -Mayor Henderson commented on the fact that the new patrol <br /> vehicles would be using low -lead gasoline , and that the Highway <br /> Patrol had been doing so for some eighteen months with success . <br /> She also reported that the Environmental Quality Control Commission <br /> newsletter had praise for the City for publising its agenda as a <br /> paid ad . She also briefly commented on the Congressional -Cities <br /> conference in Washington , D . C . , and advised that the Legislative <br /> Committee was to meet and would have a report on the next Council <br /> agenda with respect to that conference . City Manager; Report <br /> provided to Council indicated that the Council , in adopting . the <br /> 1972 -73 budget , approved the principle of extending the business <br /> license tax to the rental of multiple dwelling units , and that they <br /> further requested that a study be completed in order to properly <br /> devise a rate schedule for the application of the business license <br /> tax to the business of renting multiple units .
