THIS ITEM TAKEN OUT OF ORDER AT THIS TIME. <br /> REPORTS: Overstreet & Associates, July 16, 1993 <br /> The Sports Management Group, July 28, 1993 <br /> Update on proposed new Red Morton Center; (102-02) <br /> Mayor Buchan summarized the previous meetings held by staff and Council and <br /> advised the consultants were asked to address three specific issues: <br /> staffing, revenue projections and operations costs. <br /> Robert Overstreet, Overstreet & Associates, presented "A Report for the <br /> Location of Administrative and Program Staff Offices at the Proposed Red <br /> Morton Community Center and at the Community Activities Building," July 16, <br /> 1993. Mr. Overstreet recommended the concept of maintaining Department <br /> administrative offices at the CAB and fully consolidating supervisors and <br /> program related clerical staff at the new RMC. <br /> Lauren Livingston, The Sports Management Group, presented a cost and <br /> revenue analysis of the proposed Red Morton Center, including benefits of <br /> larger size gymnasium with volleyball courts. Ms. Livingston advised that <br /> increased volume will increase revenue which will offset additional <br /> staffing. <br /> In response to Council questions, Parks, Recreation and Community Service <br /> Director Griffiths described parking considerations and alternatives and <br /> advised more information would be coming to the Council at a later date. <br /> MIS: CLAIRE/LA BERGE TO ACCEPT CITY COUNCIL FACILITIES COMMITTEE AND STAFF <br /> RECOMMENDATIONS: <br /> 1) Follow the staff recommendation given by Overstreet Associates, move <br /> programming supervisory and support staff to the Red Morton Center at an <br /> additional cost of $257,400; and <br /> 2) Approve the inclusion of a larger gymnasium into the Red Morton Center <br /> and proposed programming schedule at an additional cost of $131,000 for <br /> the larger gym and an additional 1,510 square feet of programming area at <br /> a cost of $214,815; and <br /> Regular Meeting and Study Session Agenda <br /> August 2, 1993 MINUTE BOOK NO. 51 <br /> Page 8 Page No. 497 <br /> .._- .._._.-- --. 1 <br /> <br />
