PUBLIC HEARING , Application of SAVERIO VACCARO to amend Section 13 . 2 ( d ) , Zoning Ordinance , No . 1130 , relating to permitted used in the " CN " "Neighborhood Commercial " District , to permit sale of wine and beer in restaurants , declared open and affidavit of publication ordered filed . Planning Commission , after a public hearing on April 25 , 1972 , recommended that Council approve amendment to Zoning Ordinance to allow sale of wine and beer in restaurants as a conditionally permitted use in the "CN" District . At request of Vice -Mayor Henderson , Planning Director provided a brief statement concerning initiation of the application , in connection with a restaurant , Planning Commission proposed restriction such that sale of beer andvine only be permitted , and that a Use Permit be required . Mr , Kenneth Carey , 626 Jefferson Avenue , advised he represented Mr . Vaccaro , who owned property in the Roosevelt Shopping Center , and that he had not realized " CN " District did not permit selling wine and beer , therefore made application to change the Ordinance . He noted that in the same shopping center , off- sale of liquor is permitted , but not wine and beer in a restaurant . There being no communications or further oral discussion , Councilman Weymouth moved to close the public hearing , seconded by Councilman Rhodes and carried . Councilman Rhodes moved to introduce Ordinance amending Section 13 . 4 of Ordinance No . 1130 , the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Redwood City , relating to uses in the Neighborhood Commercial District , seconded by Councilman Weymouth and carried . Application of HENRY and ANGELA M , MILLER , to resubdivide one parcel into four parcels with exceptions requested , property being located in Oak View Way near Laurel Way , in "RH " (Residential Hillside ) District . This matter had been continued from meeting of May 15 , 1972 , since there had been no representation on behalf of the applicant . Report provided to Council on May 12 indicated that following consideration by Planning Commission , in the absence of a majority vote for or against the applica- tion , applicant was advised a record of their proceedings would be for- , warded to Council without recommendation , and without necessity of applicant to appeal the decision , Councilman Williams indicated that in view of his prior involvement as a Planning Commissioner in earlier discussions relating to this item , and on recommendation of the City Attorney , he would abstain from participa- tion or voting in the matter . Planning Director advised that the application was a resubmission for a minor subdivision offered for consideration in 1969 , and was identical 5 /22 /72
