' U <br /> General Improvement District fl-o . 1 -- 61 , City Manager advised that <br /> included were items that it was t,nown needed to be done , <br /> One project <br /> that it was hoped to accomplish at an early date was Interior Waterways <br /> as a top priority item , and it was proposed that Park and Recreation <br /> Facilities funds be allocated for at least part of it , with the view <br /> of making the Waterways a valuable part of the recreation system . <br /> Councilman Henderson inquired with r. erard to the services of DMJM, and <br /> City Manager advised that it was not intended to exclude the possibility <br /> of using their services for design but this would be under a new <br /> contract . In response to concern expressed regarding expansion of <br /> the oxidation ponds , City Manager advised that a better way to express <br /> this proposal would be " oxidation pond modification `? . Councilman. <br /> Henderson felt that with respect to Estero MID Water Connection <br /> that this was a questionable expenditure and asked for assurance <br /> this would be beneficial to that part of the community . City Manager <br /> responded that there would be benefit from a fire protection point <br /> of view , and this could not be done through Belmont because of the Freeway . <br /> There was a question from the audience with regard to street lighting <br /> improvements in Friendly Acres and Center Street area . City Manager <br /> advised that this was one thin- previously mentioned where the proposals <br /> should be in writing , was the area of operations of the Utilities <br /> Advisory Committee , and their recommendations , when completed , would <br /> include not only utilities in terms of under grounding , but also a <br /> periodic review of street lighting situation . This would be an on- <br /> going kind of review that staff will be conducting with PG&E covering <br /> the entire City , and input from citizens and citizens groups would be <br /> welcomed . <br /> Councilman Henderson moved to accept the Capital Improvement Budget for <br /> 1972 -73 , and in concept the program for 1973 through 1977 , seconded <br /> by Councilman Williams and carried . <br /> Councilman. Henderson moved to adjourn the meeting , seconded by Councilman <br /> Williams and carried .
