Staff report indicated that Chief Building Official ' s recommended second phase for updating City ' s Building Codes would comprise the Plumbing and Mechanical Codes . 1970 Codes in each instance are the latest publications of. the Model Codes recognized by the State of California and HUD , and are proposed to be adopted by the City , reflecting local procedure and including administration amendments for the local enforcement function . City Clerk advised that three (3 ) copies of each of. the Codes referred to , Uniform Plumbing Code 1970 Edition and Uniform Mechanical Code 1970 Edition , were on file in Clerk ' s office as of this date . Councilman Henderson moved to introduce Ordinance repealing Article VII ( commencing at Section 9 . 70 ) of Chapter 9 of the Code of the City of Redwood City ; and adding Article VII ( commencing at Section 9 . 70 ) to Chapter 9 of the Code of the City of Redwood City , relating to the establishment of regulations and standards for the installation and maintenance of heating, ventilating, comfort cooling and refrigeration systems , including the adoption by reference of the `Uniform Mechanical Code , 1970 Edition , " as published by the International Association of. Plumbing and Mechanical Officials and the International Conference or Building Officials , seconded by Councilman Weymouth and carried , Councilman Weymouth moved to introduce Ordinance repealing Article ( commencing at Sec . 9 . 80 ) of Chapter 9 of , and adding Article VIII ( commencing at Sec . 9 . 80) to , Chapter 9 of the Code of the City of Redwood City , relating to the establishment of Plumbing Regulations and Standards , including the adoption by reference of the "Uniform Plumbing Code , 1970 Edition , " as published by the International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials , seconded by Councilman Norris and carried . Councilman Rhodes moved to set public hearing on July 24 , 1972 , seconded by Councilman Leipzig and carried , (MINUTE ORDER #72 - 132 ) Report in response to presentation on behalf of Redwood Shores Homeowners Association .
