149
completed within one year from date of acceptance of the Resolution
by the property owner . The one -year period expired on March 2.8 ,
1972 , and owner was therefore requesting extension of time .
Staff recommended approval , subject to payment of required fees .
(Report was submitted to Council . )
It was established that non -refundable fee referred to in Manager ' s
report was for each connection .
Councilman Norris moved to adopt RESOLUTION NO . 6786 GRANTING CONDITIONAL
SEWER CONNECTION PERMIT TO PREMISES SITUATE OUTSIDE CITY LIMITS
PURSUANT TO SECTION 27 . 21 . 1 OF THE CITY CODE ; STATING CONDITIONS
THEREOF AND FEES THEREFOR (ROYER ) AND RESCINDING RESOLUTION NO . 58o8
AND RESOLUTION NO . 6169, seconded by Councilman Henderson and
carried on roll call vote , Councilmen Weymouth and Williams being
noted absent .
Request for a Revocable Encroachment Permit by Crown Truck Parts ,
Chemical Way , for use of a portion of City right of way on Maple
Street .
Crown Truck Parts requested that the City grant
an encroachment permit for vehicular parking
purposes on a portion of Maple Street and Staff
recommended approval . (Report was submitted to
Council . )
City Manager brought to Council ' s attention that one of the conditions
in the draft permit attached to his report to Council required in-
stallation of a 6-foot chain link fence , but upon further investi -
gation, it was found not to be necessary , and in fact , might be
hazardous to place fencing along the Maple Street fronting . He
recommended that the Resolution and Permit be amended to that effect .
In answer to Councilman Norris ' question regarding revenues from
users of City property , City Manager brought out that the improve -
ment or up -keep of the area to be used for parking and the aesthetic
improvement of the area is primarily a benefit to the City , and
further , that there were very few instances of this type permit .
He also noted that the revocable nature of the permit was more
desirable than a commitment to a lease .
Councilman Leipzig moved to adopt RESOLUTION NO . 6787 APPROVING AND
AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF REVOCABLE ENCROACHMENT PERMIT RELATING
TO USE FOR VEHICULAR PARKING PURPOSES OF CERTAIN CITY-OWNED REAL
PROPERTY, as amended to exclude requirements for fencing, seconded
8/21/72
Reg .
