Funds accruing to San Mateo County <br /> from SB 325 were estimated at $3 , 321 , 000 . Applications must now be <br /> formally approved by the full Commission and then by the State Depart- <br /> ment of Transportation . City Manager noted that the Resolution adopted <br /> previously by Council was very helpful in obtaining tentative approval . <br /> Because of concerns raised by the Department of Buildings and Transpor- <br /> tation , Gillig Transit Sales was required to give a 12 month guarantee <br /> on the front suspension systems on the new buses . The springs were not <br /> holding up , the guarantee had been invoked , and corrections are now in <br /> process . Public Works : Approval had been received from the State <br /> Water Quality Control for the Belpipe project , construction permit <br /> applied for from Corps of Engineers , and a reissuance for permit from <br /> the Bay Conservation and Development Commission requested . After <br /> permits have cleared , final plans and specifications can be prepared . <br /> As soon as weather permits , project can go to bid , and this was <br /> anticipated to be next Spring , so that the project should be completed <br /> and in operation by Summer .
