226
CONSENT CALENDAR :
(a ) DAMAGE CLAIM, Albert Mann, 914 Oak Avenue , property
damage allegedly due to negligence of City employees .
( Council action would deny the claim and refer to insurance
carrier )
(MINUTE ORDER #72 -210 )
(b ) ACCOUNTS PAYABLE , Nos . 93674 to 93883 , inclusive ,
totaling $128 , 845 . 27 .
( COUNCIL ACTION WOULD APPROVE ACCOUNTS FOR PAYMENT BY CITY . )
Councilman Henderson moved to approve CONSENT CALENDAR , Items
(a ) and (b) , seconded by Councilman Norris and carried on
roll call vote , Councilmen Weymouth and Williams being noted
absent .
COMMUNICATIONS :
(a ) WRITTEN - Copies submitted to Council .
1 . Kenneth A . Mahl , California Investors Group ,
833 El Camino Real , San Carlos , requesting
permission to appear before Council to read a
letter pertaining to the restoration of the old
bank building at the corner of Broadway and Main .
(Detailed report was submitted to Council )
It was noted that the date for the requested
appearance had been requested by the writer by
telephone to be changed from this meeting to
December 11 , 1972 . City Attorney indicated in
response to question by Mayor Keckley that the
matter could be carried forward as a matter under
communications only , having no official status
inasmuch as the contents of the letter were unknown .
Mr . Lawrence J . Gilsdorf , 1506 Hopkins Avenue ,
advised that he and a number of other persons were
interested in the bank project , and indicated that
apparently there was some difficulty with respect to
earthquake -proof status of the buildings , and that a
structural engineer had been contacted to look at the
buildings , and if possible , to appear either before
the Board of Building Review or Council . It was
hoped that he and others interested in the project
could be heard , because they felt that it was an
important project , and noted that 60% of the project
had already been leased . He said that Mr . Mahl apparently
was not familiar with procedures of the City .
Reg . Mtg .
12 /4/72
