t � COMMUNITY PROGRESS REPORT . City Manager reviewed the written report , covering Community Development : Demonstration study was being conducted in the Middlefield neighborhood for the purpose of determining direction for making policy recommendations by Housing Concerns Committee to Council . Within the overall study area , it was decided to choose three mini-neigh- borhoods for study , with the object being to determine feasibility of applying a work program to each . Findings are to be submitted to the Housing Concerns Committee on December 13 . Site surveys and data compila- tion were being done by Ken Perry, Building Department EEA trainee . Other input will be provided by Planning and Public Works Department . Project coordination is the responsibility of Mr . Rivas , IPA Urban Affairs Specialist . Total Value of new construction for November was $216 , 548 . Permits for seven single family dwellings were issued and seven units demolished . Six units finaled in Redwood Shores . Parks and Recreation : Winter-Spring recreation schedule is to be delivered to some 30 , 000 residences on December 13 . Hilltop Players ' presentation of "Blithe Spirit " drew audience of 500 . Redwood City Community Theater Group was in initial stages of organization, and will produce plays , and act as an advisory group to Department of Parks and Recreation . Because of continuing problems relative to maintenance of School District recreational areas , a new agreement being negotiated which staff would have before Council by Spring , which hopefully would clear up some of the problems . Transportation : Metropolitan Transportation Commission formally approved City ' s application for grant . City had made demand on County Controller for the allocation of $179, 993 , and check had been received that date . There had been problems with the bus suspension systems , and all front springs were being replaced by Gillig Bros . , and the guarantee extended to one year from date of replacement . Miscellaneous : Renovation had begun on the 900 Main Street property and should be ready for the Library audio-visual program about January 1 , 1973 . In addition, the Employees Credit Union office is anticipated to be relocated to that building , and office space provided for senior citizens advisory center . In conjunction with this , Social Security Agency had been offered free office space which they have accepted , and would provide a representative at 900 Main one afternoon per week . Announcement would be made in the near future with regard to the time and day of the week . City Treasurer had issued the first permit under the newly adopted ordinance covering massage parlors . In process is negotiation with San Mateo County for purchase of bulk permits for long term meters for use by County jurors . Agreement would guarantee $7 , 000 in additional income and would substantially increase usage of the Bradford Street parking lot . 12/11/72
