240 <br /> City Manager then introduced the newly appointed Director of Parks <br /> and Recreation, Mr . Max Weeks , who had reported to work Monday , <br /> December 11th . Councilman Henderson noted that in response to <br /> request by Council the previous month , report had been made by <br /> Staff with regard to the Woodside Road fencing , and suggested that <br /> the matter be put in process for examination at time of budget <br /> considerations . <br /> (Memo 12/12/72 ) <br /> Continued Public Hearing , Appeal of John E . McCarthy and Sons <br /> from denial by the Planning Commission of their application for <br /> approval of a Tentative Map of Atherwood Unit No . 2 , with excep - <br /> tions to Subdivision Ordinance requested . Public hearing had been <br /> continued , without opening , from Council meetings of October 9, 1972 <br /> and December 4 , 1972 , pending preparation of Environmental Impact <br /> Report . City Clerk reported that in a letter received this date , <br /> appellants had requested continuance to Council meeting of January 8 , <br /> 1973 , due to their inability to be present at this meeting . <br /> Councilman Henderson moved to continue the public hearing to January 8 , <br /> 1973 , seconded by Councilman Williams and carried . <br /> (MINUTE ORDER #72 -212 ) <br /> Continued procedure , Approval of FINAL MAP , FARM HILL CASITAS , property <br /> located at southeastcorner of Farm Hill Boulevard and Eden Bower Lane . <br /> This matter had been continued from Council meetings of October 9, 1972 <br /> and December 4, 1972 , pending preparation of Environmental Impact <br /> Report . Planning Commission report and recommendations , including the <br /> Environmental Impact Report conclusions , had been submitted to Council . <br /> Councilman Weymouth moved to adopt RESOLUTION NO , 6842 APPROVING AND <br /> ACCEPTING FINAL MAP OF "FARM HILL CASITAS SUBDIVISION" , REDWOOD CITY, <br /> CALIFORNIA , SUBJECT TO CERTAIN CONDITIONS ; APPROVING AND ADOPTING PLANS <br /> FOR IMPROVEMENT THEREOF ; AND APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF <br /> AGREEMENT FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF IMPROVEMENTS FOR SAID SUBDIVISION, <br /> seconded by Councilman Leipzig and carried on roll call vote , Council- <br /> man Rhodes being noted absent . <br /> In a brief discussion , Council expressed the hope that environmental <br /> impact report requirements in the future would provide the controls with <br /> respect to similar developments to prevent environmental damage . <br /> Councilman Henderson questioned whether City had the right to impose <br /> penalties on those who don ' t comply with requirements for obtaining <br /> permits for work such as building or grading, and what could be done to <br /> 12/11/72 <br />
