250
Councilman Henderson asked that the Minutes of December 11 , 1972 ,
be corrected to show her "no " vote on the introduction of
ordinance amending the Zoning Ordinance rezoning property
in the vicinity of Woodside Road and Oxford Street , and with
that correction , moved to approve as submitted Minutes of Adjourned
Regular Meeting of December 6 , 1972 (Public Hearing , El Camino
Improvements ) , Minutes of Regular Meeting of December 11 , 1972
and Minutes of Adjourned Regular Meeting ( Executive Session)
of December 13 , 19 72 ( City Manager ' s office ) , seconded by Council -
man Williams and carried .
Mayor Keckley expressed on behalf of Council concern and wishes
for a speedy recovery for both Councilman Rhodes and Council -
man Weymouth *
Mayor Keckley accepted , on behalf of the City , a presentation by
the Redwood City Bobbies , wives of the Redwood City Police
Officers , of coffee cups and silverware for the Police Department
coffee room .
EL CAMINO REAL , Channelization and Traffic Signal Modification
Project , Whipple Avenue to Oak Avenue . (A certified Shorthand
Reporter was present to take a verbatim transcript of this
agenda item , which will be on file in City Clerk ' s office . )
Mayor Keckley commented on Council ' s request following the public
hearing on December 6 , 1972 , that consideration of proposals be
confined to Alternate Plan #3 of exhibit "A " , and that staff
submit further reports in answer to questions that Council raised .
He then asked City Manager for review of the staff reports .
City Manager noted one very specific question that came out
of the last meeting was regarding the State Highway Department ' s
position in this project expressed in their letter ( Exhibit "B " )
to the Public Works Department with reference to the two-year
test period for tow away zones , and the outcome at the end of
this period . It was apparent to staff who were present at the
meeting with the State last Thursday , that they would insist upon
the tow away zone feature in Alternate Plan #3 , and would deter-
mine whether or not the arrangement worked at the end of the
two-year period . City Manager brought to the City Council ' s
attention that staff had previously indicated this would not be
a satisfactory arrangement, and that opinion still remained .
Therefore , staff did not recommend Council approve this proposal
of Alternate Plan #3 .
12/18/72
