367 <br /> Transportation , Construction of the municipal bus terminal by <br /> Tyson Builders has been progressing satisfactorily , and only <br /> painting and replacement of asphalt in the area remain to be <br /> completed , A report by the Transportation Committee is expected <br /> to be made to Council on January 10 , 1972 with respect to recommenda- <br /> tion to approve bid specifications for a fleet of new buses to <br /> replace the present ones , <br /> Attached to the report was a tabulation of results of the reduced <br /> bus fares on Saturdays only , from October 30 to December iS , 1971 , <br /> which had been authorized by Council . It was indicated that rider- <br /> ship approximately doubled during that period , and it was felt this <br /> experiment would provide a basis for a more thorough study by the <br /> Transportation Committee for the whole bus system . <br /> Mayor Bury requested , relative to the subject of Community Progress , <br /> that his report received at the meeting by Council , be added on the <br /> subject of Resolutions Proposed by Community Congress for Progress . <br /> The report was then read in full , indicating that certain resolutions <br /> considered at the recent Community Congress for Progress were to be <br /> delivered to the Council within the week according to Mr . George <br /> Leipzig , Co-Chairman of the Congress , It was proposed in his report <br /> that the several resolutions be scheduled for Council ' s consideration <br /> on Janes ry 24 , 1972 for decision on an item-by- item basis , <br /> Doris Wood , 1504 Gordon , endeavored to <br /> relate several City problems to the <br /> Vietnam war , <br /> Toni Gray , 950 Iris , spoke with refer- <br /> ence to the war , <br /> Juan Hernandez , 1023 Stambaugh , reported <br /> a problem relative to the pedestrian <br /> overpass on Woodside Expressway and <br /> suggested more patrol in the area , <br /> Application of GRANITE ROCK CO . , for Exception to the Subdivision Ordinance <br /> to subdivide one parcel into two parcels , property located between <br /> Harbor Boulevard and Maple Street , in a "GI " (General Industrial ) <br /> District and "IR " (Industrial-Restricted ) District . <br /> Staff report indicated that the Planning Commission had at its meeting <br /> of December 14 , 1971 , unanimously recommended the exceptions be <br /> approved by Council , subject to a number of conditions . <br /> 1 -3-72 <br />
