<br /> Invocation was led by Associate Pastor James Ramsey , First Assembly of God Church .
<br /> ON ROLL CALL, the following were noted present : Councilmen Mary W . Henderson ,
<br /> Paul C . Keckley , Herbert G . Petersen , William C . Rhodes , Ray A . Weymouth ,
<br /> James S . Williams , Mayor Robert H . Bury , and City Clerk Marian McCrindle .
<br /> Also noted present were City Manager James M . Ff., les , Jr . , City Attorney David E .
<br /> Schricker , Assistant City Manager James M . Smith , Police Chief John R . McDonald ,
<br /> Jr . , Planning Director Ken Schroeter , Chief Building Official Charles Gflel -
<br /> brecht , Construction Engineer William T . Martin , and Deputy City Clerk Frances
<br /> I . Reggetts .
<br /> On roll call , the following Government Affairs Program students were noted present :
<br /> Ralph Leidy , Angel Capuchino , David Brumett , Richard Eckstrom , Bob Shabatura
<br /> and Amy Sugimoto . Noted absent was Greg Rohde .
<br /> Councilman Keckley moved to approve , as mailed , Minutes of Regular Meeting of
<br /> March 6 , 1972 , seconded by Councilman Henderson and carried .
<br /> COMMUNITY PROGRESS REPORT
<br /> City Manager summarized his written report to Council : Community Development .
<br /> Work wasorogressing on Land Use and Housing elements of the Redwood City
<br /> General Plan , with scheduled completion date of December , 1972 . Following
<br /> adoption of Land Use elements , work would begin on Traffic Circulation j^~
<br /> element which should be completed by June 1973 . Also during the next fiscal
<br /> year it was hoped to begin efforts toward completion of other elements to
<br /> the General Plan , such as Conservation , Open Space , Seismic and Water Front ,
<br /> Building activities included 87 permits in February for single family units
<br /> in Redwood Shores , having value of $ 1 , 674 , 500 . Other activity consisted of
<br /> Crown Parts , 80 Chemical Way , $ 116 , 000 ; Grant Auto , Inc . , 2411 El Camino
<br /> Real , $ 186 , 000 ; 24--unit apartment , 3226 Rolison Road , $36 , 000 .
<br /> Park and Recreation . Renovation of the caboose in Community Park completed
<br /> at cost of $5 , 781 . Renovation of Model Plane field also completed .
<br /> Public Safety . Police communication console now installed and operative ,
<br /> and remodeling of Police Building completed . City Manager suggested that F�
<br /> Council members might wish to visit the Department to be shown how the
<br /> new equipment works . Fire Department personnel completed a two -week teaching
<br /> program at Sequoia High School covering all phases of fire prevention , fire
<br /> fighting and first aid . South County Amateur Radio Society and the Fire
<br /> Department conducted a communication test with Office of Emergency Service
<br /> in Sacramento , with the Mayor and Police Chief participating .
