I <br /> The following people spoke in favor of disestablishing the BID: <br /> Don Saye, Main Street merchant, Redwood City <br /> Joe Steinfeld, Main Street merchant, Redwood City <br /> Mayor Buchan asked if anyone else wished to speak. No one came forward. <br /> MIS: STEINFELDILA BERGE TO CLOSE THE PUBLIC HEARING. <br /> CARRIED BY UNANIMOUS VOICE VOTE AND HEARING CLOSED AT 8:21 P.M. <br /> MINUTE ORDER NO. 93-185 I <br /> TITLE READ. MIS: GREENALCH/LA BERGE FOR FIRST READING. <br /> ORDINANCE DISESTABLISHING DOWNTOWN BUSINESS IMPROVEMENT AREA NO.2 <br /> ADOPTED FOR FIRST READING BY UNANIMOUS ROLL CALL VOTE. <br /> ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- <br /> 1. MATTERS OF COUNCIL INTEREST <br /> A. Councilman Greenalch presented an update on the work of the Council <br /> Committee on Substandard Streets and Canyon Road. Councilman Greenalch <br /> advised that he and Vice Mayor Claire had met with staff and residents of <br /> the Canyon Road area and had a meeting scheduled for August 24th at 1:30 at <br /> Mr. Cliff Keeley's home to present the City's plan for providing a permanent <br /> solution to this forty-three year problem. The plan will include: new <br /> water lines, a project to be funded from the City's water enterprise fund; <br /> road overlay, from one-time monies from state reimbursement; storm drains to <br /> be funded by the City and contributions from certain property owners on <br /> Canyon Road, Oak Knoll and Harding; and available options for property <br /> owners who wish to pay for additional improvements.
