MATTERS OF COUNCIL INTEREST <br /> A. Councilman Greenalch presented an update on the work of the Council <br /> Committee on Substandard Streets and Canyon Road. Councilman Greenalch <br /> advised that he and Vice Mayor Claire had met with staff and residents of <br /> the Canyon Road area and had a meeting scheduled for August 24th at 1:30 at <br /> Mr. Cliff Keeley's home to present the City's plan for providing a permanent <br /> solution to this forty-three year problem. The plan will include: new <br /> water lines, a project to be funded from the City's water enterprise fund; <br /> road overlay, from one-time monies from state reimbursement; storm drains to <br /> be funded by the City and contributions from certain property owners on <br /> Canyon Road, Oak Knoll and Harding; and available options for property <br /> owners who wish to pay for additional improvements.
