( See City Clerk ' s file - Retirement and Health Insurance . ) <br /> Councilman Petersen inquired whether the benefits were better , equal , or <br /> less than under CPS , and Personnel Analyst stated they were better . <br /> In discussion by Council , it was noted that the split plan (wherein a <br /> number of employees are covered under Kaiser ) is one of the reasons other <br /> major insurance companies will not bid . Councilman Keckley recommended <br /> that determination should be made at the end of the year as to whether <br /> employees are receiving satisfactory service , and that some type of feed - <br /> back should be set up to assure the Company is giving proper service . <br /> CONSENT CALENDAR : <br /> (a ) DAMAGE CLAIM of Billy and Kathleen Harrell , 921 Rose Avenue , for <br /> property damages allegedly caused by City-owned and operated vehicle . <br /> (Council action would deny claim and refer to insurance carrier) <br /> ( b ) ACCOUNTS PAYABLE , Nos . 84161 to 84271 , inclusive , totaling $252 , 540 . 25 . <br /> (Council action would approve accounts for payment by the City) <br /> Councilman Keckley moved to approve CONSENT CALENDAR , Items (a ) and (b ) , <br /> seconded by Councilman Weymouth and carried on roll call vote , Councilmen <br /> Henderson, Rhodes and Williams being noted absent . (MINUTE ORDER #71 -83 ) <br /> COMMUNICATIONS : <br /> 1 . Greyhound Lines -West , notification of application being made with the <br /> PUC for increase in passenger bus fares and package express charges , and <br /> an additional increase to afford Greyhound a reasonable rate of return . <br /> Referred to Transportation Committee , <br /> 2 , Note of appreciation from Monique Gamelcy for Council ' s support in helping <br /> her to be able to compete in the YMCA National Championships in Florida , <br /> and reporting on the ratings she received . <br /> Mayor Bury commented on the fine showing, with Miss Gamelcy <br /> placing 9th and 10th in two of the events out of a large <br /> field of competitors . <br /> 3 . Lions Better Youth Association , Daly City, soliciting contributions in <br /> the 1971 sponsorship drive . <br /> Mayor Bury indicated he would respond indicating City has <br /> no capability to participate . <br /> 4 . Petition from residents on 500 Block of Douglas Street requesting more <br /> adequate street lighting on that block . <br /> Mayor Bury asked that Staff respond , and felt City should <br /> concern itself with the inadequate lighting in some areas , <br /> and that programs should be put into effect to bring lighting <br />
