<br /> Redwood City Council
<br /> June 24, 1971 4 : 35 P .M .
<br /> City Manager ' s Office
<br /> Mayor Bury called the Special Meeting to order at 4 : 35 P .M . , and stated
<br /> purpose of the meeting was to consider the appointment and employment of a
<br /> public officer, the City Manager ' s position .
<br /> ON ROLL CALL the following were noted present : Councilmen Mary W . Henderson ,
<br /> Paul C . Keckley, Herbert G . Petersen, William C . Rhodes , Ray A . Weymouth,
<br /> James S . Williams , and Mayor Robert H . Bury . Also noted present were City
<br /> Manager pro tem Ken Schroeter and City Clerk Marian McCrindle .
<br /> The Mayor thereafter announced because of the nature of discussion before the
<br /> Council on this personnel matter, City Manager and City Clerk would be excused
<br /> as he would request Council meet in Executive Session for duration of discussion
<br /> of this subject matter .
<br /> Councilman Keckley moved to adjourn Special Meeting to Executive Session for
<br /> discussion proposed, seconded by Councilman Williams and carried .
<br /> City Manager and City Clerk were excused as meeting adjourned to Executive Session
<br /> at 4 : 38 P .M .

<br /> Councilman Henderson was thereafter by motion duly made and carried appointed
<br /> to record Minutes of the Executive Sessions which continued periodically on the
<br /> consideration of appointment and employment of a City Manager for June 4, 1971,
<br /> June 5 , 1971 , and June 6 , 1971 .
<br /> Executive Session adjourned to Special Meeting on June 6 , 1971 , on motion by
<br /> Countilman Petersen, seconded by Councilman Keckley and carried, at 2 : 38 P .M .
<br /> Special Meeting adjourned by order of Mayor Bury at 2 : 39 P .M .

<br /> Works , Public Services Warren J . Mitchell , Construction Engineer William T .
<br /> Martin, Park Superintendent Pasco Balzarini , City Librarian Karl Vollmayer,
<br /> Traffic Engineer Arthur U . Eskelin, Superintendent of Buildings and Maintenance
<br /> Melvin I . Moen, and Deputy City Clerk Frances I . Reggetts .
<br /> Councilman Keckley moved to approve , with corrections as noted, Minutes of Regular
<br /> Meeting of May 24, 1971 , and to approve as mailed, Minutes of Executive Session
<br /> of May 24, 1971 , seconded by Councilman Henderson and carried .
<br /> COMMUNITY PROGRESS REPORT . City Manager pro tem indicated there were twelve items
<br /> on which brief comments would be made on activities during the month and asked
<br /> Chief Building Official to review construction and demolition . Chief Building
