Southern Pacific Transportation Company notification of their having applied to PUC to increase suburban passenger fares between San Francisco and San Jose and intermediate points , by approximately 8%-12% . Recommendation : Refer to Franchise Committee . 4 . Invitation to Annual San Francisco Regional Service Committee barbecue , Lake Pilarcitos , June 24th . ( To be answered individually ) 5 . Mrs . C . 0 . Bey, 8 Clinton Ct . , suggesting development of a park in center of Redwood City, and changing the name of Redwood City to "Redwood" . Mayor Bury indicated he would respond . Councilman Henderson reported on her attendance at meeting of County and repre- sentatives of cities in the County , relative to convention and visitors ' bureau and hotel-motel tax . Another meeting of steering committee is scheduled for June 2 . Councilman Henderson commented on LAFCo minutes of April 21 , 1971 , of which she had received a copy, relating to proposed annexation of land of Royer, southeast end of Atherwood Avenue , to the City of Redwood City . The proposal was continued to June 16 , and Councilman Henderson felt there should be representation by City at that meeting . Mayor Bury asked that copies of this information be furnished to Council , and that Staff should represent the City ' s interest at the meeting . ( Memo 5-25-71 ) Mayor Bury asked City Manager pro tem to check whether copies of agendas and minutes are being received . Mayor Bury reminded Council of the Memorial Day ceremonies to be conducted at Union Cemetery, Woodside Road, at 9 : 00 a .m . , by Scout Troop 67 and with participation by several other groups . Councilman Williams moved to accept communications and authorize implementation of recommendations , seconded by Councilman Henderson and carried . ( MINUTE ORDER #71-102 ) Councilman Petersen referred to the destruction of the statue of the Union soldier in Union Cemetery by juveniles , and his understanding they were required to make restitution . He inquired whether this had been done . Mayor Bury noted that the statue had been restored after the first incident , by City Firemen with their own money . When the restored statue was vandalized again , it was beyond repair, and portions were donated to the Historical Society . He understood the Legion was looking for a replacement monument of some type . City Attorney advised he had recently had occasion to look into this , and that the matter is being administered through Juvenile Court . Details of restitution are out of City ' s hands and in the hands of the Court . He indicated the Auditor ' s office had advised that one of the boys involved had paid back approximately $250 , and that the other had paid $1i4, but was presently incarcerated so obviously was not in position to pay . One of the conditions of probation was that each boy was to pay $500 . Councilman Petersen felt that Council should take action to have something commemorative placed in the cemetery . At 9 : 35 p . m . , Councilman Henderson moved to adjourn to Executive Session for discussion of matter of litigation , seconded by Councilman Williams and carried . Regular meeting reconvened at 9 : 54 p .m . , and on motion of Councilman Petersen, seconded by Councilman Henderson, Regular Meeting adjourned by adoption of RESOLUTION N0 , 6520 COMMEMORATING THE MEMORY OF ELIZABETH MANSFIELD, civic leader and mother of Deputy Police Chief Joel Mansfield .
