- --- --- --- <br /> 199 <br /> Jack Spivey stated they were requesting $25 . 00 per <br /> Council member from the City ' s treasury for purchase <br /> of trophies , soft drinks , etc . <br /> Vice -Mayor Keckley felt the request merited consideration , and felt that it <br /> should be made an agenda item for the next Council meeting ( June 28th ) . He <br /> asked that Councilmen Petersen , Rhodes and Williams meet as a committee with <br /> City Manager and Mr . Spivey at some mutually agreeable time prior to the <br /> next regular meeting to discuss the matter and bring back a recommendation . <br /> It was suggested that the City Attorney be represented , as well . ( Memo <br /> 6-22-71 ) <br /> 2 . Petition with 107 signatures , all allegedly employees of County , requesting <br /> Council to consider installing all 10-hour meters at the City ' s three off- <br /> street parking lots : Theater parking lot , City Hall parking lot and Marshall <br /> Street parking lot . <br /> Recommendation was to refer to Staff for report back <br /> to Council . <br /> Councilman Henderson noted that the banner relating to the 4th of July celebration <br /> which hangs over Jefferson Avenue shows a time of 10 : 30 on Sunday , which if <br /> incorrect should be changed . Councilman Rhodes advised he had talked with Mr . <br /> Doupnik ( President , Peninsula Clebration Association ) that morning and was <br /> informed the banner was one used in previous years , but was assured it would be <br /> corrected . <br /> Councilman Henderson referred to City Manager ' s report relating to landscaping of <br /> Woodside Road medians , and indicated her disappointment at the State ' s attitude , <br /> in view of the fact utility poles and huge transformers are permitted while <br /> trees were not . She felt the landscaping should have high priority, and asked <br /> whether Staff had alternate suggestions . City Manager pro tem advised contract <br /> documents had been prepared, but had not gone out to bid , and that encroachment <br /> permit from the State is necessary . <br /> Vice-Mayor Keckley asked that the matter be placed on Council agenda for next <br /> week ( June 28th ) .
