Town of Woodside , Resolution opposing deletion of Route 35 ( Skyline
Boulevard ) , Route 114 (Woodside Road , Churchill Avenue to Route 280 ) ,
and Route 82t (Woodside Road from Route 280 to Route 35 ) from State
Highway System ,
City Manager noted this additional declaration relating to State
Highway System only accounted for four cities concerned with this
proposal in the County . Mayor Bury reported discussion held at Council
of Mayors and indication of those present , particularly May of San
Carlos , that Redwood City make the presentation opposing proposed
deletion of El Camino Real and Woodside Road from State Highway System .
He stated it was thought this would make for a less repetitious presen-
tation and also indicate a unanimous position . Councilman Petersen
suggested City Manager contact cities concerned in the County to ascer-
tain if all Councils wish to be represented in this manner . Mayor
Bury also asked that City Manager contact Mayor of Woodside for a meet-
ing date on other problems he wished to discuss with our City relating
to LAFC matters , Mayor Bury also reported that Council of Mayors had
designated Councilman Henderson as an alternate member to the County of
San Mateo LAFC group .
Councilman Henderson moved to accept the communications and recommendations
noted , seconded by Councilman Williams and carried . (MINUTE ORDER #71-162 )
Mayor Bury questioned status of the proposed parking restrictions for narrow
streets which he thought had been before the Ordinance Review Committee for
review , since he had received several telephone complaints from residents
concerning this subject . City Manager advised he would check to see when
this might be in form to present to Council . (Memo 8-30-71 )
Councilman Weymouth noted the appointment calendar listed for the Civic Cultural
Commission and questioned whether any of the original Streeting Committee
on the formation of this Commission were interested in being appointed , Mayor
Bury stated Chairman of the group had been contacted on this point and that
he was to submit a report to him indicating whether any of the Committee would
be interested in continuing with the Commission and would submit the informa-
tion to Council as soon as it is received .
Councilman Weymouth moved to adjourn, seconded by Councilman Williams and
carried . Meeting adjourned at 8 : 35 A . M .
-- MARIAN McCRINDLE, City Clerk
Adj , Reg . Meeting
8-30-71
