Bids were opened on January 20th as follows : <br /> AAA Construction , Menlo Park $29, 250 <br /> Bragato Paving, Belmont 33 , 245 <br /> Hood Corporation , San Jose 49 , 105 <br /> Oscar Holmes , Inc . & Holmes -Clair , <br /> Menlo Park 56 , 840 <br /> Engineer ' s Estimate $32 , 640 . 50 <br /> Leslie Properties had remitted to City the amount of $ 1 , 950 as their <br /> participation in the funding , Staff and DMJM recommended award of contract <br /> to AAA Construction , the low bidder . <br /> Councilman Keckley moved to adopt RESOLUTION NO , 6451 AWARDING CONTRACT FOR <br /> 1970- 1971 MAINTENANCE PROGRAM FOR REDWOOD CITY GENERAL IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT <br /> NO . 1 -64 ; AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF CONTRACT FOR SAID WORK ; AND DIRECTING <br /> RETURN OF SECURITY DEPOSIT , seconded by Councilman Petersen , and carried on <br /> roll call vote . <br /> Councilman Weymouth moved to adopt RESOLUTION NO . 6452 AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING <br /> PURCHASE OF CERTAIN HEREIN DESCRIBED REAL PROPERTY LOCATED IN THE VICINITY OF <br /> THE NORTHERLY TERMINUS OF MAIN STREET IN THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY; AND <br /> AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING PUBLICATION OF NOTICE OF INTENTION TO ACQUIRE <br /> SAID PROPERTY, seconded by Councilman Rhodes, and carried on roll call vote . <br /> Councilman Petersen moved to introduce Ordinance appropriating $25 , 500 from <br /> unappropriated balance of gas tax street improvement fund to provide for <br /> acquisition of rights of way and related services for Main Street extension <br /> project , seconded by Councilman Keckley , and carried , <br /> City Attorney noted that present owners of the property have requested that <br /> Council accept their offer within 30 days of the date of offer , which was the <br /> latter part of last week , and recommended that Council move to accept the <br /> offer subject to compliance with requirements of Charter relating to purchase <br /> of real property . <br />
