Mayor Hugh Wayne , of City of San Mateo , urging support of State <br /> legislation to bring about property tax relief through establishment <br /> of a different assessment ratio for single - family dwellings . <br /> Recommendation : Refer to Legislative Committee . <br /> 6 . County of San Mateo , Resolution asking assistance to alleviate <br /> the problem of litter and waste disposal created by sale of <br /> beverages in disposable containers . <br /> Recommendation : Mayor Bury will respond to County , <br /> noting previous position taken by Council on this <br /> subject . (Memo 2 - 9-71 ) <br /> Councilman Henderson requested the following two letters addressed to Mayor <br /> Bury be added to the record : <br /> Letter , February 1 , 1971 , San Mateo County Planning Commission , <br /> regarding presentation by City Planning Director Ken Schroeter <br /> of Redwood City ' s proposed General Plan for Woodside Road , <br /> expressing appreciation for the presentation and consultation <br /> with them . <br /> Letter , February 1 , 1971 , Vice -Mayor Theodore H . Long , City of <br /> San Bruno , regarding Save our American Resources Project of <br /> San Mateo County Council of Boy Scouts of America . <br /> Mayor Bury noted that he had responded to the letter regarding the Boy Scout <br /> project and had referred it to the Park and Recreation Commission . <br /> City Manager reported receiving a request about 4 : 55 P . M . today from Committee <br /> for Green Foothills that Council take action tonight on support of their <br /> efforts to effect ( 1) a safe trail system within the 280 Edgewood Road <br /> Interchange which does not require passage across auto ramps ; and ( 2 ) a <br /> reduction of Edgewood Road within the Interchange area from six to four <br /> traffic lanes . This matter will be discussed at a meeting on February 16th <br /> at 9 : 30 A . M . <br /> It was decided by Council that no action could be taken tonight because of <br /> the late receipt of this information and the lack of opportunity to review <br /> and discuss the matter . <br /> Councilman Henderson moved to accept communications and recommendations , <br /> seconded by Councilman Williams , and carried . (MINUTE ORDER #71 -29) <br />
