a Prior to adjournment , City Manager requested permission of Council to read into the record his letter of resignation , effective June 1 , 1971 , which briefly outlined some of the important accomplishments during his tenure with City . Mayor Bury expressed Council ' s understanding and respect for City Manager ' s decision , and thanked him for his service to the community . Councilman Henderson moved to accept City Manager ' s resignation with regret , seconded by Councilman Petersen , and carried . (MINUTE ORDER #71 -30) Councilman Weymouth moved to adjourn to Regular Adjourned Meeting on February 10 , 1971 , at 4 : 30 P . M. in the City Manager ' s office , for preliminary budget discussions , seconded by Councilman Rhodes and carried . Meeting adjourned at 8 : 45 P . M , Frances I . Reggetts , Acting City Clerk. Minutes of Adjourned Regular Meeting Redwood City Council February 10 , 1971 4 : 30 P . M. Meeting was called to order at 4 : 47 P . M ,, with the following present : Councilmen Mary W . Henderson , William C . Rhodes , Ray A . Weymouth , James S . Williams , Mayor Robert H . Bury , and Acting City Clerk Frances I . Reggetts . Councilmen Paul C . Keckley and Herbert G . Petersen were noted absent . Also noted present were City Manager Howard C . Ulirich , City Auditor-Accountant Jack Ference , and City Librarian. Karl Vollmayer . Mayor Bury noted that the purpose of the meeting was to anticipate keeping to schedule for budget sessions and eliminate need for making decisions under pressure . Council indicated it would be desirable if the proposed dates set for May were to be considered firm ( May 5 , 12 , 19 and 26) . In discussing locations for the meetings , it was felt at least one should be held at the Municipal Services Center , and that hopefully they will be scheduled at locations which would permit interested citizens to participate . City Manager advised that this was intended to be a pre -budget briefing, and that City Auditor-Accountant had prepared work sheets outlining the fiscal outlook for 1971 - 1972 , based on five assumptions , any change in which would have the potential for changing the package . Copies of the work sheets were distributed by City Auditor -Accountant , who then reviewed them in detail .
