WAM <br />Councilman Keckley moved to approve Councilman Rosselli's request for expenses in <br />connection with League Committee on Transportation in Sacramento on January 15, <br />1970, seconded by Councilman Arnett and carried, (MINUTE ORDER # 70-7) <br />Councilman Henderson, referring to report on the SCSP, and comments by John Jenks on the <br />delays, felt there was a need to hear from City Manager as to whether anything <br />is expected of Council, noting the letter implied a sense of urgency. City Manager <br />advised that a meeting was scheduled for 8:30 in San Carlos with the authorities <br />from SCSP. Belmont, he said, is unable to sell bonds to fund their share. Mr. <br />Jenks indicated urgency because of certain provisions which must be met to qualify <br />the plan for Federal grant. Subject of the meeting is to discuss means by which <br />authorization to call for bids can be made. Recommendations will be carried back <br />to each Council involved for consideration by January 12th, and will then enable <br />going to bid by January 15th. <br />Setting the matter of the police incident on an early agenda was discussed briefly, Vice <br />Mayor Petersen stating that it was his understanding this was the intention of Mayor <br />Bury. <br />Councilman Weymouth <br />moved <br />to adopt <br />RESOLUTION NO, 6189 <br />COMMEMORATING THE MEMORY OF <br />THOMAS M. HIRES, <br />and to <br />adjourn <br />to adjourned <br />regular <br />meeting on January 8, 1970, at <br />4:30 P.M., for a joint meeting with the Veterans Memorial Commission, seconded by <br />Councilman Rosselli and carried on roll call vote, Mayor Bury being noted absent. <br />Meeting adjourned at 10:10 P,M. <br />MARIAN MC CRINDLE <br />Deputy City Clerk <br />Minutes of Regular Meeting <br />Redwood City Council <br />January 12, 1970 7:30 P.M. <br />Pledge of Allegiance led by Councilman Keckley. <br />Invocation led by Reverend Donald J. Rosselli, Ray A. Weymouth, Mayor Robert H. <br />Bury and Deputy City Clerk Marian McCrindle. Noted absent was Councilman <br />Herbert G. Petersen. Also noted present were City Manager Howard C. Ullrich, <br />City Attorney David E. Schricker, Assistant City Manager Henry V. Burget, <br />Police Chief John R. McDonald, Director of Public Works J. Louis Scherer, <br />Planning Director Ken Schroeter, City Auditor -Accountant Jack Ference, Chief <br />Building Official Charles Gyselbrecht, Personnel Director Al Wiers, and <br />Secretary Frances Ozzanto. <br />Councilman Keckley moved to approve Minutes of Regular Meeting of January 5, <br />1970, as mailed, seconded by Councilman Henderson and carried. <br />PUBLIC HEARING, Weed Abatement Program 1970, declared open, and affidavits of <br />publication ordered filed. <br />Resolution was adopted by Council on December 8, 1969, declaring weeds a <br />nuisance and setting public hearing for this date.
